After an online meeting with the Government to direct response to storm No. 13, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Tam Hien chaired a meeting with departments, branches and reservoir owners to direct reservoir operations to respond to the storm.
At the meeting on the morning of November 5, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep emphasized that storm No. 13 is likely to cause a wide-ranging storm circulation, causing widespread heavy rain. Therefore, forces should stick close to key areas and be ready for rescue.

Regarding the operation of reservoirs under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep requested that reservoir owners reduce the reservoir capacity to increase the ability to store water, cut floods, and respond when heavy rains occur.
In the eastern communes of Quang Ngai province, there are currently 127 reservoirs. The capacity of irrigation reservoirs has reached an average of about 69%. Particularly, the Nuoc Trong reservoir has a water level of 119.24m. The Dakdrinh hydroelectric reservoir has a water level of 402.63m.

In the western communes of Quang Ngai province, there are 84 reservoirs. Currently, the capacity of irrigation reservoirs reaches an average of more than 88%, with 60/84 reservoirs reaching 100% capacity.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep requested Quang Ngai province to direct all owners of irrigation and hydroelectric reservoirs to carefully inspect the works, proactively operate and regulate the reservoirs, reserve capacity to receive water, and cut off floods for downstream areas. When water needs to be released, timely notification must be given so that people in downstream areas know and proactively take precautions.

Strengthen the on-duty force, closely monitor the water level in the lake, effectively respond to heavy rain, protect the lives and property of people downstream and the safety of the project.
