Successfully controlled dengue fever outbreak in Ky Xuan

On October 9, the Provincial Center for Disease Control received information about patients with dengue fever in Phuong Giai hamlet, Ky Xuan commune. From this case, the specialized agency also recorded 9 other related cases of dengue fever.

After receiving the information, the Provincial Center for Disease Control directly directed the Ky Anh Medical Center and Ky Bac Medical Station to investigate, monitor and implement prevention and control measures. The Ky Anh Medical Center coordinated with commune and village level departments and agencies to clean the environment, turn over water containers, collect waste; and spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes within a 200m radius from the patients' homes.

The Ha Tinh Health Sector has also deployed direct communication on epidemic prevention and control measures through village meetings; Ky Anh Health Center and the health station coordinated with the village's departments, branches and unions to go to households to propagate epidemic prevention measures...

Thanks to the drastic measures taken by the provincial health sector and local authorities, up to now, for 14 days (since October 22 - the most recent new case), no new cases have been recorded in the area. Thus, the outbreak has been controlled.

This is the third dengue fever outbreak detected in Ha Tinh in 2025.

Master Nguyen Chi Thanh - Director of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control recommends that although the outbreak has been controlled, people should not be complacent. The weather is changing complicatedly, especially after floods, creating favorable conditions for mosquitoes to develop, while the awareness of disease prevention and control of a part of the people is still limited, so the risk of an outbreak is very high. To prevent and control effectively, in addition to the efforts of the health sector, it requires the cooperation of departments, branches and organizations, especially the awareness of each person.

"Proactively preventing and fighting the epidemic, especially destroying disease vectors, is still an important strategy in the current work of preventing dengue fever. In particular, we must best implement the motto "no Aedes mosquitoes, no larvae, no dengue fever", the Director of the Ha Tinh Center for Disease Control emphasized.
