Truong Luu unanimously joins in sustainable poverty reduction

The first days of November in Truong Luu commune became more meaningful with the launching ceremony of the peak month "For the poor" in 2025. With the spirit of "mutual love and support", the movement received positive response from cadres, civil servants and public employees in the area through voluntary contribution of one day's salary to support the "For the poor" Fund.

Not only stopping at the agency block, the movement also spread widely to every village and hamlet. Each person, with their ability and heart, has a practical way to join hands to help those in difficult circumstances, some contribute money, some contribute working days, some donate household items to poor and near-poor households.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan - Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Truong Luu commune said: "The peak month "For the poor" not only mobilizes material resources but also arouses the spirit of solidarity and sharing in the community. This is an important foundation for Truong Luu to effectively implement the goal of sustainable poverty reduction".

Truong Luu commune leaders received support from Hung Yen Provincial Police in response to the "For the Poor" Peak Month.

Along with mobilizing and supporting resources, under the leadership of local Party committees and authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations: farmers' association, women's association, youth union, veterans' association... have promoted their core role in helping poor households.

Through practical activities such as: training to improve knowledge and production skills, supporting working days, providing livelihood models, helping poor households have specific "addresses", and at the same time creating conditions for members to access preferential loans... the organizations have made an important contribution to reducing the rate of poor households, increasing income and expanding the group of well-off and rich households in the area.

The chicken farming model helps many families in the commune have extra income.

Thanks to practical support programs, many poor and disadvantaged households in Truong Luu have had more opportunities to improve their lives. Ms. Pham Thi Mai’s family in Tra Son village is one of them.

“In the past, my family's situation was very difficult. Both my husband and I did not have stable jobs. My mother-in-law was old and weak, and my children were still young, so we had to go hungry one day and have enough the next. However, thanks to the support of women's associations at all levels through consulting activities, hand-holding, and access to preferential loans, I took advantage of the strength of my home garden to raise chickens. Persistently from year to year with breeding and re-herding, I gained more experience to develop my flock to nearly 100 chickens. My family's life has also escaped poverty and turned a new page" - Ms. Pham Thi Mai shared.

With the connection of the Farmers' Association, many training courses on knowledge and technology transfer to people have been implemented.

As one of the key organizations in poverty reduction, in recent times, the Farmers' Association of Truong Luu Commune has also promoted its core role, closely following the grassroots, accompanying members in developing production and improving their lives. Because the majority of households in the area are farmers, supporting the right needs, close to reality has helped the movement achieve remarkable results.

The Association has actively coordinated with specialized sectors to organize training, transfer science and technology, and guide members to apply production models suitable to local conditions such as growing fruit trees, comprehensive livestock farming, and developing hill garden economy . At the same time, the Association also acts as a credit guarantee with banks to help members access preferential loans, invest in expanding production, livestock farming, and small-scale businesses.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Truong Luu commune informed: "Currently, in addition to the association's fund of more than 650 million VND, the association also guarantees capital of over 32 billion VND from banks to support members in borrowing to develop the economy and build production models. Thanks to strict management and proper use of capital, most of the models have been effective, and households have paid principal and interest on time. People's lives are increasingly improving, contributing positively to sustainable poverty reduction in the locality."

Truong Luu people apply scientific and technological advances in production.

Joining with the Youth Union at all levels in the goal of hunger eradication and poverty reduction, the Youth Union of Truong Luu commune has also increased coordination with schools and businesses inside and outside the province to organize counseling, job introduction, support union members and young people in career orientation, vocational training and labor export. At the same time, implementing youth models for economic development in the locality, such as growing fruit trees, raising livestock, small service businesses..., contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for the young labor force.

Along with that, the Commune Veterans Association also promotes the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively participates in emulation movements of labor production, helps each other in economic development, supports members in difficulty with plants, seeds and labor days. Many veteran members have become typical examples in economic development, not only escaping poverty but also striving to become rich, spreading the spirit of self-reliance and exemplary behavior in the community.

The effectiveness of poverty reduction programs has contributed to changing the face of the new rural area in Truong Luu.

With the consensus of the Party Committee, the government and the people, Truong Luu has been writing a meaningful story of sustainable poverty reduction. The poverty rate of the whole commune is now only 3.32%, the average income is over 50.83 million VND/person/year. Many household economic models and community livelihoods continue to be effective, creating a driving force to promote labor restructuring, increase income, contributing to Truong Luu's steady progress on the journey of building a new, advanced rural area.
