After storms and floods, humanity and bravery are revealed!

Proactively and flexibly respond to protect people's lives and property

Having suffered consecutively from storm No. 5, storm No. 10 and floods caused by heavy rains, Ha Tinh has become the epicenter of natural disasters for over two months. In response to each complicated weather development and warning, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has issued directives directing the entire political system to take drastic action; the Provincial People's Committee has issued telegrams, urgently held meetings to deploy specific response plans, and sent working groups to inspect and direct at the grassroots level. At the same time, it has continuously issued documents directing localities, departments and branches to flexibly implement the "4 on-site" plan, mobilizing maximum forces to respond with the motto of putting people's lives and safety first and foremost.

Provincial leaders directly inspected and directed the response and recovery work for storms and floods in the localities.

Forces, vehicles, materials, and necessities were mobilized promptly; people and assets in dangerous areas were evacuated in a race against time and storms. Quick, clear, and decisive decisions put the entire political system into a state of proactive, urgent, and synchronous response.

Located in the southern border area of the province, Vung Ang ward is an area heavily affected by natural disasters. Mr. Nguyen The Anh - Chairman of Vung Ang ward People's Committee said: "During the recent natural disasters, we have established working groups to the grassroots level, directly directing the response according to the "4 on-site" motto. Residential groups proactively stocked food and rescue supplies; organized the evacuation of people to safe places. This careful preparation and proactive response has helped the locality minimize damage when storms and floods hit."

During three consecutive natural disasters, more than 22,200 armed forces officers and soldiers were mobilized to support people.

In addition to the efforts of the Party Committee and the government, the police, army, militia, union members and members also quickly responded to storms and floods with the highest spirit and responsibility. Colonel Hoang Anh Tu - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of the Provincial Military Command said: "During the recent storms and floods, the Ha Tinh armed forces mobilized nearly 22,200 officers and soldiers along with 75 specialized vehicles to support localities in effectively responding to storms and floods. We also closely coordinated with all levels and sectors to monitor the development of natural disasters, promptly mobilize forces, prioritize heavily affected areas to repair schools, medical stations, and support the disadvantaged...".

Immediately after the storm and the water receded, the entire political system quickly switched to emergency mode to overcome the consequences. Working groups of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and leaders of departments and branches were directly present at the grassroots level, both to inspect, urge and remove difficulties for the locality.

The whole system is involved in responding to and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

At the same time, thousands of workers in the electricity, telecommunications, and environmental sanitation sectors also worked day and night to clean up the landscape, restore infrastructure, and ensure the smooth flow of information and electricity, serving the people's lives as well as the direction and management work. These images are clear evidence of the spirit of "serving the people", especially in difficult and dangerous times.

Spreading love, lighting up the spirit of solidarity in storms and floods

When the storms hit, floodwaters rose, many rural areas of Ha Tinh were submerged, many families lost all their property. It was also at those moments that solidarity and love were rekindled.

Meals are prepared by organizations and volunteer groups for people in flood-affected areas.

With the active participation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, organizations and volunteer groups, gifts were brought to families affected by the storm, and field kitchens were set up right outside the flooded areas to cook thousands of hot meals to send to the flood center.

Ms. Phan Thi Van - President of the Women's Union of Cam Binh commune shared: "Hearing the news of heavy rain and deep flooding, all the women were anxious. Some contributed rice, others cooked rice, just hoping that people in the flooded areas would have a hot meal to fight the cold. In the past few days of rain and floods, we have mobilized and prepared more than 10,000 meals, 700 portions of sticky rice; 850 boxes of noodles, 183 boxes of milk, 230 tanks of drinking water to send to people in Cam Due commune, Cam Binh and neighboring areas that were deeply flooded."

Ha Tinh Provincial Youth Union actively participates in supporting people in areas affected by natural disasters.

Promoting the spirit of volunteering for the community, union members and youths across the province have supported people in evacuating, protecting property, transporting relief goods, and cleaning up houses after each natural disaster.

Ms. Nguyen Ny Huong - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said: "The Provincial Youth Union organized training and provided equipment for natural disaster prevention for commune, ward and affiliated unions; established a provincial mobile team with 200 Youth Union members, 69 commune-level teams to organize more than 1,000 activities to support people with the participation of more than 10,000 Youth Union members. At the same time, called for more than 6 billion VND and a large amount of necessities to help people with the spirit that wherever there is difficulty, there are young people."

Provincial Red Cross Society and Provincial Women's Union brought gifts of love to encourage people in disaster areas.

In the community cultural houses, the temporary shelters of hundreds of people from storms and floods, the atmosphere of solidarity and sharing is still warm. Many commune, village and residential group officials work day and night to take care of every meal and safe accommodation for the people while their own family homes are being destroyed by storms and floods. Volunteers forget about hunger, cold and danger to go to the heart of storms and floods to rescue people. Those are forever beautiful images in the hearts of the people.

The storm and flood passed, leaving Ha Tinh with more than 136,000 damaged houses, more than 5,400 flooded houses, 4 deaths, thousands of hectares of crops, aquatic products and poultry damaged; more than 700 schools, 127 medical facilities with roofs blown off, severely damaged...

To overcome those difficulties and losses, in addition to the solidarity and self-reliance of the local government and people, the companionship and support of the people of the whole country is indispensable.

In difficult times, Ha Tinh received a lot of support from people across the country.

According to the report of the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee, from September 2025 to now, hundreds of organizations and individuals have supported through the Provincial Relief Fund with an amount of more than 100 billion VND; a large amount of goods and tens of billions of VND have also been mobilized by localities and organizations to help people overcome the consequences. In addition, Vingroup Corporation supported nearly 94 billion VND for more than 4,600 households affected by natural disasters.

Amidst so much loss, what remains in the end is humanity and bravery. The fields will be green again, the roofs will be rebuilt, but the memories of the days when “a piece of food when hungry is worth a whole package when full” will forever be the motivation for Ha Tinh people to be more united and steadfast in the face of all challenges.
