Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School is the first Vietnamese school to apply the High Performance Learning (HPL) philosophy, providing students with an effective learning environment where they develop high-level thinking skills, form global citizenship mindsets, practice lifelong learning skills, and expand opportunities for future success.
In 2025, Nguyen Sieu School officially became the first member from Vietnam in the global community of HPL (Fellowship and Global Community) schools and will continue the three-year journey of maintaining - developing - re-accrediting to further improve.
HPL is an international educational philosophy developed by Professor Deborah Eyre, currently being implemented in more than 100 schools in more than 20 countries around the world, with tens of thousands of students at different levels - from the UK, the Middle East, Asia to Africa. HPL provides a clear framework for a “World Class School”, in which the school focuses on developing students’ Advanced Cognitive Performance (ACPs) and Values, Attitudes, Attributes (VAAs), through building a school culture of high expectations and consistent pedagogical practices.
The program is an opportunity for delegates to listen to the sharing from representatives of HPL Organization, learn how HPL philosophy is contributing to changing teaching methods and learning environment at Nguyen Sieu.
Real-life sharing from students, teachers and administrators, along with classroom observations, will provide a multi-dimensional perspective on the application of HPL values and competencies in practice.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Principal of Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School said: "For a long time, we have pursued an educational philosophy that focuses on developing both intelligence and personality. We believe that education is not only about equipping students with academic knowledge, but also about helping each student become the best version of themselves - confident, compassionate and able to contribute positively to society. When approaching the High Performance Learning (HPL) model, we realized that this is not a new direction, but a mirror reflecting the values that Nguyen Sieu has always pursued - a global model that speaks the same "language of aspiration" that we always believe in. HPL helps us raise standards without losing our identity, and helps teachers see their role as not only a transmitter of knowledge, but also a nurturer of the mindset and values of "outstanding effectiveness" in learning, in personality and in life."
Representative of HPL Organization, HPL Executive Director - Mr. Gareth Collie also shared at the program: "HPL's mission is to create schools where students can maximize their potential, achieve the highest academic ability, and be equipped with values and qualities that help them confidently and firmly enter university, career and life. After two years of steadfastness on the journey with HPL, Nguyen Sieu has shown a strong and persistent commitment in realizing this philosophy. As the first pioneering school in Vietnam, Nguyen Sieu has demonstrated the spirit of innovation, daring to think and do, and always ready to welcome advanced educational ideas, bringing positive and meaningful impacts to the whole school."
Within the framework of the program, delegates and guests were able to directly observe and participate in classes to understand how Nguyen Sieu Secondary and High School implements and incorporates the HPL philosophy into daily lessons. This is an important highlight of the program, clearly demonstrating Nguyen Sieu's commitment to transforming the HPL philosophy into specific and effective pedagogical practices in the classroom.
