From November 3-5, the working delegation of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) led by Deputy Director - Phan Linh Chi worked with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long province on the implementation of the project: "Restructuring the tourism industry to meet the requirements of developing into a spearhead economic sector" and the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in recent times, the province has proactively issued many resolutions, plans and action programs to effectively implement the tasks of the project and strategy for developing Vietnam's tourism. In the period of 2018-2025, Vinh Long tourism welcomed 38.2 million visitors, including 7.8 million international visitors, with total revenue reaching more than VND 29,000 billion. The labor force in the tourism industry is about 16,000 people, of which 60% have been trained...

The delegation worked at BenTre Riverside Resort, surveyed Lan Vuong tourist site (An Hoi ward), Thom river coconut floating market (Thanh Thoi commune), Con Ho (Nhi Long commune), visited the Ok Om Bok Festival space at Ao Ba Om national scenic spot (Nguyet Hoa ward) and surveyed Tu Buoi pottery house tourist site (Thanh Duc ward).

At the working session, the working group assessed the leadership, direction and implementation of the restructuring project and tourism development strategy; assessed the difficulties, obstacles, limitations, weaknesses and causes, and drew lessons. On that basis, proposed amendments and supplements to tasks and appropriate, practical priority solutions from the locality to contribute to making tourism truly a spearhead economic sector.

Ms. Phan Linh Chi - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, highly appreciated the initiative, efforts and sense of responsibility of Vinh Long province in implementing the Project to restructure the tourism industry and realizing the goals of the Vietnam Tourism Development Strategy to 2030.

The Deputy Director emphasized that in the context of increasingly deep competition and integration, Vinh Long needs to continue promoting local strengths, review and perfect mechanisms and policies to attract investment, and create favorable conditions for businesses and the community to participate in tourism development.
