Aquatic product output reached nearly 734 thousand tons

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from the beginning of the year until now, the total harvested aquatic product output of the whole province reached 733,822 tons (reaching 75.8% of the yearly plan); of which, the farming output reached 501,005 tons, reaching 72.9% of the yearly plan) and the exploited output reached 232,817 tons (reaching 82.7% of the yearly plan).

Brackish water aquaculture contributes significantly to the total output and value of aquatic product production of the whole province.

Up to now, farmers in the province have stocked 96,392 hectares, exceeding the annual plan by 0.06%, 843 hectares higher than the same period last year; harvested 223,867 tons (reaching 67.84% of the plan, 17,115 tons higher than the same period); of which the shrimp farming area applying high technology (2, 3 phases) is 6,828 hectares, with an output of 129,840 tons.

In the remaining months of 2025, the provincial agriculture and environment sector will continue to deploy professional work to support farmers in disease prevention. The province will strengthen inspection and control of input materials and seeds to limit poor quality.

In particular, the province has stepped up control of fishing activities, especially activities related to combating IUU fishing. The target is to achieve a total output of 968,580 tons and a production value of VND38,980 billion by the end of the year.
