Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership, staff, teachers, employees, and students of Danang University and its member universities, affiliated units, and subordinate units for promoting the spirit of initiative, creativity, and adaptation in preventing and combating natural disasters.
Thanks to that, the level of influence and impact of floods is minimized; special attention is paid to ensuring the safety and health of teachers and students, protecting property, equipment, facilities and flexible and effective learning progress.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong said that the education sector always pays close attention, shares and accompanies the education sector of localities, including Da Nang city as well as Da Nang University in the work of preventing, combating and overcoming damage caused by natural disasters. At the same time, he highly appreciated Da Nang University for actively mobilizing scholarship sources for students.
Donation activities to support people in difficult circumstances due to storms and floods were widely launched by the education sector along with the whole country, demonstrating the tradition, spirit of "mutual love and support" and compatriotism.
Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong suggested that schools and units should have more forms of timely and flexible support, suitable for each situation and subject, in the spirit of not allowing students to stop studying due to difficult circumstances after natural disasters.

According to a quick report, member universities and training units of Danang University have more than 800 students affected, whose families suffered damage due to floods, mainly concentrated in areas such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Danang (Hoi An, Dien Ban, Dai Loc, Duy Xuyen, Thuong Duc, Ha Nha areas...).
In particular, student families who are small-scale producers and businesses such as shrimp and fish farming in cages/rafts using borrowed capital suffered heavy losses, lost their means of livelihood, and had long-term effects on their lives.
In some cases, students reported that their families were unable to support tuition fees, hoping that the school and all levels would consider and provide support.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Vu, Director of Danang University, said that based on quick statistics from students, Danang University has directed member universities to urgently check and verify each specific situation and condition to have appropriate support plans.
On this occasion, leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training awarded 200 million VND from the education sector to support Da Nang University to overcome the consequences of the recent natural disaster.
