More than 7,900 billion VND to build a coastal road connecting Vinh Long with Dong Thap

On November 5, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province announced that it had just submitted a document to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval of a resolution on approving the investment policy for the Project to build a coastal road connecting the two provinces of Vinh Long and Dong Thap.

Coastal highway opens up strategic connection between provinces in the Mekong Delta region

Accordingly, the route has a total length of 25.2km, of which the 20.6km road section is designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road and the bridge section is about 4.6km, including Ham Luong 2 bridge and 7 small bridges.

The project is classified in group A, with a total investment of more than 7,900 billion VND.

Regarding the capital structure, the project uses a loan to support sustainable development in the Mekong Delta to adapt to climate change (ODA loan from Korea is allocated 90% by the central budget, Vinh Long province borrows 10%) and counterpart capital from the local budget.

The Provincial People's Committee said that when completed, the coastal road will gradually complete the coastal traffic system of the province and the region, opening up a strategic connection axis between the provinces in the Mekong Delta.

The project not only helps to enhance the capacity of transport, circulation of goods and inter-regional economic trade, but also creates favorable conditions to attract investment, develop tourism and coastal industry, contributing to promoting sustainable development in the Mekong Delta.
