Launch of the 10th season of the 2025 Victory Cup

On the morning of November 5, in Hanoi, the press conference for the 10th season of the 2025 Victory Cup took place.

Held since 2015, the Victory Cup has become a prestigious award to honor Vietnamese Sports . Over the past 10 years, more than 100 outstanding athletes and coaches have been recognized, from sports legends to young stars reaching the continental and world level such as Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Quach Thi Lan, Nguyen Huy Hoang, Do Hung Dung, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Hoang Xuan Vinh, Nguyen Quang Hai...

Overview of the press conference

According to the Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration, Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, the Victory Cup has increasingly affirmed its value as a leading national sports award with each season. This is also one of the important spiritual and material motivations for coaches and athletes to strive each year.

"The Vietnam Sports Administration always considers the Victory Cup an important annual event and activity. The Victory Cup is also a typical, lively and effective model of socialized sports" - Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet emphasized.

It is known that in the 10th season, the Victory Cup has been carefully prepared, with innovation in organization methods, promising to have a new step forward in quality, professionalism and influence.

With 11 categories, the award continues to meet the goal of honoring in the most comprehensive and complete way the outstanding collectives and individuals, outstanding activities in a vibrant and colorful year of Vietnamese sports with a series of events, notably the 33rd SEA Games, including: Male Athlete of the Year; Female Athlete of the Year; Young Athlete of the Year; Coach of the Year; Team of the Year; Teammate of the Year; Most Favorite Athlete; Best Disabled Sports Athlete of the Year; Impressive Sports Images and Moments of the Year; Valuable Achievement Award and Outstanding Foreign Expert of the Year.

Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet answered at the press conference

The total prize value is up to 750 million VND. Of which, the highest prize, 100 million VND, is for individuals and groups that win the 3 categories of Male Athlete of the Year, Female Athlete of the Year and Team of the Year.

Two rounds of voting, in which the second round is in charge of the Voting Council consisting of managers, experts, and prestigious sports journalists, are expected to select the most worthy and convincing candidates and nominees to honor. Notably, the Organizing Committee decided to only "finalize" the list of categories and the election process after the 33rd SEA Games (from December 9-20, 2015) to have the most worthy choice.

At today's announcement ceremony, the Organizing Committee also awarded the Outstanding Athlete Overcoming Difficulties award to disabled swimmer Pham Tuan Hung. This is a prize worth 25 million VND, taken from the award of the category: Impressive images and moments of the 2024 Victory Cup (50% awarded to the author and 50% awarded to the case of overcoming difficulties).

The Victory Cup Award Gala is expected to take place in early February 2026.
