Concerns about underage students driving

The worrying reality today is that many students are still driving vehicles when they are underage, causing concerns about safety on the way to school.

Many students of the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Training drive large-displacement motorbikes to school.

In the midst of the busy traffic, it is not difficult to see young faces driving vehicles. Many of them are underage but still drive motorbikes over 50cc in a hurry.

Many students carry 3 people and do not wear helmets when riding motorbikes.

Talking to a student riding a Honda Vision, the student said he was in 11th grade. His parents were at work so they left the motorbike for him to go to school by himself. As soon as he finished speaking, he sped off and merged into the crowd.

Some parents carry their children but "forget" to wear helmets.

At the same time of school start and end, in Tan Khanh ward, Ba Ria ward, Dat Do commune..., it is not difficult to see students violating traffic laws. Through patrolling, the authorities have discovered many cases of students driving large-displacement motorbikes when they are underage.

The working group of Tan Khanh Ward Police discovered LMQ (11th grade student) driving a motorbike with license plate 61E1-934... over 50cc so they asked him to stop for inspection. Q. mumbled: "My parents went to work and there was no one to pick me up so I drove to school by myself. I know I'm not old enough to drive this motorbike."

Captain Nguyen Thanh Trung, a member of the patrol team in Tan Khanh ward, said that students who violate the law will be ticketed and their vehicles will be temporarily impounded.
