AI cameras can continuously identify license plates, colors, and vehicle types for tracking; from there, they can be checked against the vehicle registration database to detect if the vehicle shows any signs of irregularities.

"Even if the driver intentionally covers the license plate, the AI ​​camera can automatically recognize and alert the nearest police force to handle the situation," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.

In terms of features, in addition to automatically detecting violations, new generation AI cameras can also measure vehicle speed; measure traffic volume to warn of congestion, adjust traffic light cycles; automatically detect traffic accidents and alert the command center to coordinate forces to resolve them...

In addition, artificial intelligence in AI cameras can also be trained to detect qualitative behaviors such as: Not wearing a helmet, not obeying traffic lights, not obeying road markings, driving in the wrong lane, changing lanes without signaling, driving in the wrong direction, stopping and parking in the wrong place...

A representative of the Traffic Police Department added that, in implementing the project towards modernizing the force, the Traffic Police Department will apply science and technology to take advantage of all data obtained from the current camera system.

Older cameras will take advantage of the recorded images, then use AI to train and identify violations.

"The existing cameras will still be used, not replaced. New AI cameras will be installed on the roads," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
