Enhance support

Following the merger and the implementation of a two-tiered local government system, Hai Phong city now has 107 out of 114 communes, wards, and special zones with Farmers' Associations under the Hai Phong City Farmers' Association.

Recognizing that the emulation movement for excellent production and business is a driving force for farmer members to strive together, the Standing Committee of the City Farmers' Association strengthens coordination with relevant sectors to help members register to participate in excellent production and business activities, receiving support in terms of capital, technology, seeds, trade promotion, etc.

In An Truong commune, there is a specialized dragon fruit growing area, and the commune's Farmers' Association plays a crucial role in building successful economic models and replicating effective practices. Mr. Nguyen Duy Mien, Chairman of the An Truong Commune Farmers' Association, said: “Initially, members only grew conventional dragon fruit, so the selling price wasn't high. Recently, the association has developed an organic dragon fruit farming model and expanded it to many farmer members. Thanks to this, dragon fruit grown in An Truong can be sold in supermarkets and safe agricultural product stores, bringing high economic value to farmers.”

Along with An Truong commune, the Farmers' Association of Khuc Thua Du commune is also strengthening connections and supporting farmers in selling their agricultural products.

Notably, the Farmers' Association in many communes has set targets for each branch to help 2 to 3 poor households, and for each successful farmer to help 1 to 2 members escape poverty.

On average, each farm or household employs 10-20 workers from poor households or those with difficult circumstances, thereby creating jobs and generating stable income.

Building and disseminating successful production models.

With a determination to develop ecological agriculture , modern rural areas, and civilized farmers, Comrade Trinh Van Thien, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City, and Chairman of the City Farmers' Association, emphasized: Hai Phong has a rural population accounting for approximately 64% of the city's total population. Many farmer members have boldly invested in and implemented effective agricultural economic models, contributing to increased income and creating local jobs for many workers.

The City Farmers' Association strives to have at least 60% of farmer households register annually to strive for excellence, and at least 50% of registered households achieve the title of excellent producers and business operators at all levels.

To develop sustainable rural areas towards ecological agriculture, modern rural areas, and civilized farmers, in the coming period, the city's Farmers' Association at all levels will continue to proactively innovate the content and form of its activities, closely adhering to practical realities and aligning with the implementation of the two-tiered local government system.
