Due to the impact of storm No. 13, rain for many days has partially flooded more than 180 hectares of rice in Van Ninh commune. Local farmers are focusing on taking care of the rice, especially the flooded rice areas.

Accordingly, after the water receded, farmers in Van Ninh commune drained water, cleaned the fields; replanted the rice; and implemented measures to prevent and control pests after flooding, especially root rot, blast, stem borers, brown planthoppers, golden apple snails, etc. This year, farmers in Van Ninh commune planted more than 640 hectares of rice, and the rice plants are currently 20 to more than 50 days old.

With warnings of rain in the coming days, experts recommend that farmers regularly visit their fields to proactively drain water, avoid flooding, promptly detect and treat pests and diseases, and help rice plants grow.
