Recently, the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) has put into operation a Command Information Center with modern technology, combined with artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Colonel Pham Quang Huy, Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, informed that the Command Information Center will fully meet the requirements of state management in the traffic sector, including connecting vehicle registration data, inspection, tax, customs, health and data from other professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security related to people and vehicles.
In terms of scale, the Command Information Center is a level 1 management center, which in the future will be connected to 34 miniature centers in provinces/cities, including data from all professional equipment of the entire Traffic Police force.
Regarding the process, the data collected from the camera will be transmitted to the center, then the AI system will analyze to identify behavior and automatically transfer it to the management file (folder).
As for AI cameras, after recording a vehicle violation, the system will immediately extract related photos/clips with content including: Route, time of violation, behavior... Based on the vehicle registration database, the vehicle owner will be immediately identified. Currently, AI can identify more than 20 violations and is continuing to be updated.
"We are collecting images and data for officers, soldiers, and technicians to train AI to detect errors in drivers and passengers in cars not wearing seat belts. Using an AI-integrated traffic surveillance camera system can be considered as patrolling in an electronic environment," said Colonel Pham Quang Huy.
In addition, the Command Information Center also manages the entire Traffic Police force during patrol and control through the digital map system.
"We can see where officers and soldiers are working. At the same time, we can extract specific names of officers and soldiers, their identification numbers, and phone numbers for contact," said the Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department.
The center will control all traffic police patrol vehicles, including information fields on the number of vehicles in operation, parked to handle violations, and at the unit; which unit this working group belongs to, how many people it has, what tools it is equipped with, and what topic it is working on on which route... From there, it can coordinate in case of an emergency that needs to be resolved as quickly as possible.
Colonel Pham Quang Huy added that another important task of the Command Information Center is to support the investigation and resolution of traffic accidents.
"Assume a case of a car causing a hit-and-run accident. According to witness statements, the driver was driving a red car, wearing a white shirt, and driving a 5-seater vehicle," Colonel Pham Quang Huy gave the question.
Traffic police officers on duty at the center immediately filtered the routes, during this time period, how many red cars passed by. Then, based on other identifying features, they analyzed the car closest to the witness's description... The AI system also redraws the map where the suspected car passed to serve the investigation and settlement of the accident.
Colonel Pham Quang Huy emphasized that all the superior and modern features of the Command Information Center are to ensure security, safety, health, life and property of the people above all.
