Improve productivity and product quality
According to the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade), in the period of 2021-2025, the center will implement many key activities to improve business capacity and develop sustainable rural industry; organize seminars, management training and support facilities to apply advanced machinery and technology in production.
Within the framework of the Project "Improving the value chain of the red ceramic production industry in Vinh Long province in the period of 2021-2025", in 2024, the center will support ceramic production establishments to improve productivity and product quality, increase revenue for the state budget and increase the value of the entire red ceramic industry chain.
The total cost of the project is over 1.4 billion VND, of which the project supports over 700 million VND. At the same time, it supports 6 enterprises in applying advanced machinery and equipment to ceramic production, supports hiring consultants to design ceramic product models, contributing to improving the production capacity and industrial value of the local industry.
After the province's merger, the center has implemented 32 projects to support the application of advanced machinery and equipment in production for establishments and enterprises. Up to now, 5 projects have been accepted, put into operation and promoted effectively in actual production, creating a premise for replicating effective models in the area.
In Nguyet Hoa ward, Nha Farm business household - Tra Vinh Green Coconut Farm is supported to apply advanced machinery and equipment in the production of coconut fiber and coconut peat, contributing to making full use of waste from coconut shells in the process of processing products such as peeled coconuts and bald coconuts.
Thanks to this, coconut shells, which were previously discarded or sold at low prices, have now been transformed into products of high economic value, increasing the value of the entire coconut industry chain.
Ms. Bui Thanh Nha, owner of Nha Farm, shared: “Previously, coconut shells were often discarded or sold very cheaply. Since receiving support for investment in machinery, the facility can utilize all waste products to produce coconut fiber and coconut peat, both increasing income and reducing environmental pollution.”
Phan Quang Dang business household - owner of Ngoc Dang rice paper facility (Nguyet Hoa ward), implemented the project "Supporting the application of advanced machinery and equipment in automatic rice paper production". The household invested in a rice paper dryer, rice washing machine, and flour pressing machine with a total cost of 644 million VND, of which the project supported 300 million VND.
Mr. Phan Quang Dang said: “Without the support from the industrial promotion program, we would hardly have had the conditions to invest in modern machinery. Now, the automatic production line has helped reduce labor, the products meet food safety standards, have better designs and are easier to consume in the market.”
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Xuan - Deputy Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion said: The projects aim to help business households increase productivity, improve product quality and reduce environmental pollution, towards green and sustainable production, developing the province's typical product brands.
Towards sustainable development
In 2024, Vinh Long province will have 26 products/product sets voted as typical rural industrial products at the regional level, belonging to 25 rural industrial establishments.
The Center has supported 20 establishments to complete their applications to participate in the national voting in 2025. As a result, 8 products/product sets were certified as typical national rural industrial products.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dong Phuong - Director of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, the province has the advantage of abundant agricultural raw materials, favorable for the development of the processing industry.
Industrial promotion programs aim to apply new technology, green production, and environmental friendliness, while helping establishments access e-commerce and digital platforms to promote products.
In the coming time, the center will continue to organize seminars and training courses on brand building and development, collecting and reviewing product labels and packaging, and supporting facilities in applying advanced machinery and equipment to improve productivity and quality.
Facilities are also facilitated to participate in domestic fairs and exhibitions and receive consulting on design and supervision of electrical works and industrial infrastructure construction, contributing to the improvement of facilities, improving production efficiency and sustainable development.
Mr. Pham Hoang Minh - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: The industry will continue to diversify support forms, promote linkages along the value chain, and at the same time link industrial promotion with the OCOP program, build new rural areas and digitally transform enterprises.
The industry also strengthens coordination with localities to survey the actual needs of facilities, ensuring support policies are targeted and effective.
With the orientation of industrial development associated with agriculture and services, along with the support of industrial promotion policies, the province is forming many effective and environmentally friendly production models, contributing to rural industrialization, increasing product value and expanding competitive opportunities for rural production establishments in the context of integration.
