Recorded on November 5, at Ba Chieu market (Binh Thanh district), Ms. Nguyen Nhu Thao - a vegetable vendor said that in recent weeks, the supply of green vegetables from the central provinces has been interrupted due to storms. Meanwhile, the amount of goods from Da Lat has also decreased due to prolonged heavy rain, many places are flooded.
“The price of green vegetables has increased slightly, and the number of customers has not increased dramatically, so I only import a small amount to sell to avoid stockpiling and spoilage. The weather has been erratic these past few days, and vegetables are easily crushed, so I have to choose carefully and keep them fresh so that customers will buy them,” Ms. Thao added.
At Pham Van Hai market, Ms. Le Thi Van - a pork trader said: "The price of live pigs this week is still around the old level, there are no signs of shortage or sudden price increase. The supply from wholesale markets is stable so the retail price remains stable, people shop normally."
Meanwhile, a representative of MM Mega Market Vietnam said that since the beginning of October, the system has increased the output of fresh products by 300%, of which vegetables are the main products supplied from farms in Da Lat and Moc Chau. In addition, the company also fully reserves pork, chicken, beef, fish... to ensure timely food supply in all weather conditions.

According to supermarket representatives, the factor that helps keep prices stable is the proactive source of goods from associated farms, long-term contracts, and a closed chain of quality control and cold transport. Consumers increasingly prioritize choosing certified products with clear origins, so products that meet safety standards are still consumed stably, despite fluctuations in the external market.
On the management side, Mr. Nguyen Nguyen Phuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City said that the current solution to stabilize prices is to promote the effectiveness of the market stabilization program, combining concentrated promotions and mobile sales. "Many large distribution systems have been and are cooperating with suppliers, organizing promotional programs to support consumers" - Mr. Phuong said.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office, in October, the City continued to implement year-end shopping stimulus programs, helping trade and service activities maintain a good growth rate, with total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue estimated to increase by 3.7% compared to the previous month, up 13% over the same period, and in the first 10 months of 2025, up 15%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October increased slightly by 0.14% compared to the previous month, increased by 3.5% over the same period and the average price for the first 10 months of 2025 increased by 4%. Of which, 9/11 groups of goods increased in price, notably food and catering services increased by 0.48%, household appliances and equipment increased by 0.46%, post and telecommunications increased by 0.33%.
