Nam Ninh Hoa Commune: Review vulnerable areas, relocate aquaculture cages to prevent storm No. 13

On November 5, Nam Ninh Hoa commune simultaneously launched plans to prevent and combat storm No. 13.

People of Nam Ninh Hoa commune reinforce their houses and proactively prevent storm No. 13.

Accordingly, the commune arranged a force of 9 youth volunteers to be on duty in the villages to serve the mobilization and participation in storm prevention and control work. The disaster prevention and search and rescue teams of the villages also went to the households to mobilize people to tie up and support their houses, cut down trees to ensure safety; conduct inspections of vulnerable areas, areas at risk of flash floods, landslides, flooding... to proactively implement response plans.

People brought boats and ships ashore to avoid the storm.

According to Mr. Nguyen Binh Loi - Chairman of Nam Ninh Hoa Commune People's Committee, currently the functional forces and the Commune Civil Defense Command have coordinated with the police, border guards, and fisheries control to check households with aquaculture cages in the Nha Phu Lagoon area; count large-capacity boats and ships to anchor and take shelter safely. In case of emergency, the functional forces are ready to forcibly tie them to shore for intentional cases. According to statistics, the commune currently has 60 cages, 81 households raising fish in ponds, 410 boats and canoes. In the critical coastal area, there are 46 households with 163 people ready to evacuate to safe places such as: Communal houses, schools, village headquarters, households with solid houses...
