Dong Son Ward: Completed housing support for people with revolutionary contributions

In particular, the ward has completed the housing support for people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs according to Decision No. 21/2024/QD-TTg of the Government with 107 households having been supported; of which, 28 households have been supported to build new houses, 79 households have been repaired. Currently, Dong Son ward is continuing to review and propose support to remove temporary houses and dilapidated houses according to the direction of the province for 59 households; of which 10 are poor households, near-poor households, 49 households are people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs.

However, the implementation of the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction in Dong Son ward still faces many difficulties because poor and near-poor households in the area are mainly households with disabled people, sick elderly people, and people with illnesses, making it difficult to implement poverty reduction models.

According to Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Tham, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Son Ward, in order to continue to effectively implement poverty reduction work, the ward will soon conduct a review of poor and near-poor households in 2025 as a basis for developing and implementing programs and policies on poverty reduction and social security in 2026 and the period 2026-2030; at the same time, actively support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households... after the Provincial People's Committee approves the support.
