When you ask about My Qui hamlet, everyone knows Nguyen Trung An. To them, "Ham An" is an approachable, enthusiastic person who actively participates in activities serving the local community. Starting from the position of deputy hamlet chief 10 years ago, Mr. An determined that he had to perform well the assigned tasks. In 2017, when he took over as Hamlet Chief, he participated more actively in social security activities, especially supporting housing for people in difficult circumstances.

“People need a roof over their heads, no one wants to live in a house with leaky roof and rickety pillars. Understanding the wishes of the people, I often review, learn, and listen to their wishes, from which I propose that members of the People's Committee of My Qui Hamlet and the Party Cell strive to support 1-2 houses each year for households in difficult circumstances. Because this is a meaningful work, everyone agrees and highly agrees,” said Mr. Nguyen Trung An.

Thanks to the support of the My Qui Hamlet Charity and Social Group, and the support of the people, 6 new houses for poor households in the hamlet were built, with a total cost of 120 million VND, the rest being contributed by the families, including 2 houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. Each house has a solid structure, can protect from rain and sun for many years. Currently, "Ham An" continues to review cases in need of support among the nearly 550 households in the hamlet. He said that in the case of minor repairs, he will mobilize people to do it soon, helping them settle down.

As Deputy Secretary of the Hamlet Party Cell, Mr. Nguyen Trung An clearly understands Uncle Ho's teachings on the "pioneering" role of Party members. He always proactively proposes social activities to serve the people. With his prestige, whenever Mr. An mobilizes, the people in the hamlet are always ready to support. The households that receive support love "An Hamlet" even more.

Happily welcoming us to the new house, Mrs. Tran Thi Mi expressed: “My husband works for hire so we make ends meet. With a small child and I being constantly sick, the family is always short of money. The old house makes my husband and I very worried. Uncle An mobilized to support the new house, I am so happy. From now on, I will only focus on making a living to get ahead.”

In addition to mobilizing housing for the people, Mr. Nguyen Trung An also called for the construction of a 1.5km long clean flower road; installation of solar street lights on the east bank of Canal 3; paving of anti-mud rocks on the west bank of Canal 3... with a total cost of more than 136 million VND. He himself also contributed funds for a free ambulance of the Hoa Hao My Phu Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee to serve poor patients.

“As a party member, I have to be close to the people, from there I can create trust to mobilize people to follow. Each road paved with stone, each road section lit at night is a common effort, showing the consensus of the people with the People's Committee of My Qui hamlet. I am just the one who mobilizes and cannot do everything myself. After many years of being close to the people, I have realized that if I make people trust me, they will follow me!”, Mr. Nguyen Trung An affirmed.

With his positive contributions to the tasks and social security work in the locality, Mr. Nguyen Trung An was recognized as a typical example of progress in participating in the patriotic emulation movement of Vinh Thanh Trung commune in the period of 2020 - 2025. Vice Chairman of Vinh Thanh Trung Commune People's Committee Le Tra Bao Khuong commented: "Mr. Nguyen Trung An is a typical example of dedication and responsibility in work.
