Chau Phu farmers actively build their homeland

Positive results

Formed on the basis of merging 3 old administrative units (Binh Long commune, Binh Phu commune and Cai Dau town), Chau Phu commune has the potential to develop diversified agriculture . Along with that, the farmer force is large, with 3,387 households; nearly 50% of which are farmer association members. This is the core force, helping the association work and farmer movement of the commune achieve many positive results.

Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Chau Phu Commune, Tran Cam Nhung, said: “Chau Phu farmers, with their tradition of diligence, creativity, and active participation in agricultural economic development activities in the locality. In the period of 2023 - 2025, the movement of farmers competing in production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty has changed farmers' awareness. Currently, the commune has 17 farmers achieving the title of good farmers in production and business at the commune level, and 92 people achieving the title at the provincial level.”

According to Ms. Tran Cam Nhung, local farmers always actively participate in the movement of national solidarity to build a cultural life. Every year, 100% of farmer households achieve the title of cultural family; officials and farmer members participate in registering to implement 5 "Skilled Mass Mobilization" models at all levels.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huan - Deputy Head of Chau Phu Orchid - Ornamental Plants Cooperative said: "I see that Chau Phu farmers have a positive production mindset, applying scientific advances and new techniques to production. Particularly, the cooperative members strive to bring Dendrobium orchid products to meet 3-star OCOP standards. Our goal is to contribute to the development of diverse local OCOP products. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, the cooperative plans to provide 1,000 OCOP-standard orchid products to shops and businesses inside and outside the province; open a number of services related to orchids and ornamental plants to serve the people."

Farmers are the center

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the Chau Phu Commune Farmers' Association identifies farmers as the subject and center in agricultural development and new rural construction. On that basis, the association promotes consulting and supporting farmers in economic development, applying scientific and technical advances in the cultivation process, meeting the development requirements of commodity production associated with the market...

“Our goal is to promote the role of members and farmers in implementing the targets of the Party Congress resolution for the 2025-2030 term. Farmers promote the application of high technology in production, prioritizing agricultural development and aquaculture. At the same time, develop models of cooperatives, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises applying high technology. With this goal, the farmer force will demonstrate its role in the new development stage of the homeland,” Ms. Tran Cam Nhung analyzed.

To achieve this goal, the Commune Farmers' Association has intensified propaganda, aroused the will to be self-reliant and innovate among members and farmers, especially in implementing the "3 pioneers": Pioneering in escaping poverty and competing to get rich; pioneering in building civilized farmers; pioneering in green, sustainable production and digital transformation. Along with that, focusing on training, fostering knowledge, improving qualifications and skills for good farmers in production, business, and excellent farmers so that these individuals can strive to become directors of cooperatives and small enterprises, and be the core to promote the process of "intellectualizing farmers".

Appreciating the positive results achieved by the Chau Phu Commune Farmers' Association in recent times, Deputy Head of the Farmers' Affairs Committee Ngo Hoang Trong suggested that members and farmers in the commune need to be more aware of their roles and responsibilities, thereby boldly developing production, applying science and technology to increase income and improve life.

“The Commune Farmers’ Association needs to widely implement emulation movements, encourage people to participate in collective economy, and link production to ensure their rights and meet market demands. With new thinking and new spirit, I believe that Chau Phu farmers today will become professional farmers, contributing more positively to the development of their homeland,” Mr. Ngo Hoang Trong hopes.
