Tay village in Vietnam is "World's Best Tourist Village 2025"

Quynh Son village - a Tay village nestled in a limestone mountain range - has surpassed more than 270 applications from 65 countries and was officially honored by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) at an award ceremony held in Huzhou (Zhejiang, China) on October 17.

With this title, Quynh Son not only becomes the pride of Lang Son, but also a typical representative of Vietnamese tourism on the world map - a testament to the efforts to preserve culture, protect the environment and develop sustainable community tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Bac Son Golden Season Festival 2025, Mr. Trinh Minh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Son commune - said: "The title "World's Best Tourist Village" is the result of consensus between the government and the people. This will be the driving force for Bac Son to develop sustainable, friendly tourism, associated with preserving the identity of the homeland".

Formed in 2010 and recognized as a Local Tourist Destination in 2015, Quynh Son currently preserves more than 200 ancient stilt houses, terraced fields winding through the valley and many traditional crafts such as weaving, brocade weaving, and making black banh chung.

The people here still maintain the typical community lifestyle of the Tay people: friendly and hospitable. Visitors to Quynh Son can row rafts in the golden rice valley, harvest rice with the locals, enjoy grilled stream fish, black banh chung or listen to the sound of Tinh lute and Then singing echoing through the mountains and forests.

The title of “World’s Best Tourist Village 2025” is not only the pride of Bac Son people but also affirms the enduring vitality of Vietnamese community tourism, developed from the hands and souls of the indigenous people.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hanh - Deputy Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province - this award opens up a great opportunity for Lang Son to promote its tourism image internationally.

“Quynh Son is not only the pride of Bac Son, but also a symbol of the aspiration to rise of Vietnamese tourism in the integration period,” said Ms. Hanh.

The 2025 Bac Son Golden Season Festival will last until November 15, with many exciting activities such as rice pounding competition, black banh chung wrapping, rice harvesting, SUP rafting on the golden valley, OCOP product exhibition, highland culinary space and tourism fair.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Hai - Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Lang Son province - emphasized: "This is an important step in the strategy to promote Lang Son tourism in the period 2025-2030, aiming to build the brand: Bac Son - a destination for green and cultural tourism".
