Training to improve competitiveness through intellectual property and technological measures to prevent and combat counterfeit goods

On the morning of November 7, the Department of Science and Technology of An Giang province coordinated with the Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Ho Chi Minh City, the Institute for Enterprise Development - Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organize a training conference on "Improving competitiveness through intellectual property and technological measures to prevent and combat counterfeit goods".

Delegates were informed about the conditions for trademark protection.  

The conference was attended by delegates from provincial departments, branches, communes, wards, special zones, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Provincial Business Association, enterprises, and units under the Department of Science and Technology.

At the conference, delegates were informed of legal regulations, knowledge and skills on protection, management and commercial exploitation of intellectual property; procedures for registering trademarks and industrial designs; identifying acts of intellectual property infringement; technological measures to prevent and combat counterfeit goods, and protect business and consumer brands.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of An Giang province, Le Quoc Cuong, emphasized that in the context of international economic integration and increasingly developing digital transformation, intellectual property is not only a valuable asset of enterprises, but also a strategic competitive tool in the domestic and global markets. Protecting and effectively exploiting intellectual property and applying anti-counterfeiting technology are the keys to enhancing local brands, increasing competitiveness, contributing to protecting consumers, stabilizing the market, and developing a sustainable economy.
