Determined to defend the central area.

However, the security and order situation in the area still harbors some complex factors. Law violations, encroachment on sidewalks and roads, and public disorder still occur; crime prevention and control activities are sometimes not given adequate attention… Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Chinh - Head of Long Xuyen Ward Police, said that the unit has received many practical contributions from the people. With a receptive spirit, the force quickly absorbs these suggestions and takes steps to effectively combat various types of crime and social evils. From the beginning of 2025 to the present, the ward police have coordinated over 3,000 patrols, dispersed 75 cases of late-night gatherings, 3 groups of teenagers gathering to fight, dispersed 6 gambling dens and cockfighting rings, reminded 52 individuals about the importance of protecting their property; and compiled dossiers for deterrence and education for 298 individuals involved in public disorder, gambling, suspected theft, and usury…
Chairwoman of the Long Xuyen Ward People's Committee, Doan Thi Huong Ha, requested: “The ward police force should seriously and fully consider the opinions of the people, promptly rectify and handle related issues, limitations, and shortcomings; at the same time, proactively prevent, promptly detect and handle all types of crimes and social evils; focus on managing residence, temporary residence, temporary absence, and fire prevention and control in residential areas. The people should continue to contribute opinions to build a ward police force that is increasingly clean, strong, close to the people, and a reliable support for the people.”
Ensuring peace in the border area.
Following the merger, My Thoi ward has a relatively large border area with neighboring communes and wards, so ensuring and maintaining security and order in the area is always a top priority for the ward's leadership. According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh, Head of My Thoi Ward Police, in 2025, the forum "Police Listening to the People's Opinions" was organized in all 19/19 hamlets, attracting 595 participants. The unit received 62 comments regarding online fraud, security and order in some areas, and ongoing property theft, suggesting the installation of surveillance cameras on roads to combat and prevent crime… “We acknowledge these comments and will continue to coordinate with relevant departments, organizations, and neighborhoods to hold public meetings to disseminate information and mobilize the entire population to participate in the fight against crime. At the same time, we will implement comprehensive measures and operational methods to monitor the situation, closely manage key targets in the area, and ensure security and order in the border region,” Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized.
Since the beginning of the year, through patrols and inspections of the area, the ward police have discovered and handled 5 gambling cases involving 41 individuals, 12 property theft cases involving 14 individuals, compiled dossiers to prevent suspected social vices, obtained commitments from 36 individuals, and dispersed a group of teenagers suspected of using weapons to fight… The Chairwoman of the My Thoi Ward People's Committee, Vuong Mai Trinh, affirmed: “The forum ‘Police Listening to the People’s Opinions’ has yielded positive results, helping the police force grasp the local security and order situation, resolve grievances, and improve the morale and attitude of officers and soldiers. At the same time, it contributes to building a clean and strong police force and strengthening the close relationship with the people.”
The "Police Listening to the People's Opinions" forum is not only an opportunity for citizens to express their thoughts and aspirations, but also a chance for the police force to self-reflect, self-correct, enhance their sense of responsibility, and better serve the people. Through each dialogue session, the trust and consensus of the people with the police force are further strengthened.
