In Vinh Hoa Hung commune, the noticeable changes in this purely agricultural area are evident in the well-paved and clean inter-hamlet and inter-commune roads, adorned with lush green hedges and vibrant flowerbeds. According to many local residents, these roads were previously just small, dusty dirt paths overgrown with weeds, and people's awareness of environmental protection was limited.
The model of bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads is being implemented by the local government in conjunction with the "All People Unite to Build New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" campaign. Local authorities are promoting and mobilizing members and all segments of the population to participate in addressing and cleaning up environmental pollution hotspots; clearing waterways and removing overgrown bushes; planting trees and flowers along many roads; and installing streetlights. Agencies, units, and schools in the area regularly maintain cleanliness in their premises and care for ornamental plants and flowerbeds, contributing to an increasingly green, clean, and beautiful environment.
According to Nguyen Van Thiem, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Hoa Hung commune, the key to the success of the model of bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads is the joint effort of the entire political system, with the most important factor being the self-awareness of the people. In many hamlets, people voluntarily contributed labor and money to equip lighting systems and install security cameras, contributing to ensuring traffic safety, security, and order in the locality.
With its airy landscape, clean streets, and houses adorned with flowers in front of their yards and entrances, Vinh Hoa 2 hamlet boasts a bright, green, clean, and beautiful road. This road is not only beautiful and lush with trees lining both sides, but also brilliantly adorned with the national flag during holidays and festivals. Ms. Nguyen Hanh Nhan shared: “We not only take care of our own yards but also contribute to beautifying our homeland. Seeing the significance of building a bright, green, clean, and beautiful road, I and my neighbors are raising our awareness of maintaining a clean and beautiful environment.”
According to the leadership of Vinh Hoa 2 hamlet, the initial implementation of the model faced many difficulties because residents were accustomed to old ways of thinking and were not actively participating. Thanks to persistent propaganda and mobilization, their awareness has significantly improved. Residents are united and actively participate in labor, clearing vegetation; proactively planting and caring for trees and ornamental plants on their family's land, creating flowerbeds and green spaces along the roads. Waste is sorted and disposed of in designated areas, overcoming the problem of indiscriminate dumping.
In Hamlet 7, the sight of students excitedly heading to school along a tree-lined road adorned with vibrant flowers is a familiar one. One of the hamlet's effective practices is assigning specific tasks to community groups. Members assigned to these groups are responsible for supervising, reminding, and participating in projects and tasks with residents to ensure the road remains clean, bright, and beautiful. Actively caring for the road in front of their homes has become a cultural norm for the hamlet's residents, contributing to a cohesive and sustainable community.
In addition to promoting and mobilizing the people to join hands in building green, clean, and beautiful roads, Vinh Hoa Hung commune also implements model flower-lined roads and encourages people to install street lighting systems to deter social evils and contribute to ensuring security and order in residential areas. By 2025, the commune aims to implement 10 model flower-lined roads and complete 10 rural road lighting projects.
The construction of bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads not only contributes to improving the quality of life for the people but also serves as a foundation for the commune to successfully build an advanced new rural commune according to the set roadmap. The coordinated efforts between the government, political and social organizations, and the people of Vinh Hoa Hung have gradually transformed the rural area into a pristine, green, and clean place, contributing to spreading the traditional and modern beauty of the homeland.
