The tournament attracted 9 units from the communes and wards: An Bien, Binh An, Long Phu, Vinh Te, Giong Rieng, Go Quao, Tay Phu, An Phu Taekwondo Club and Kien Giang Taekwondo Club. Athletes competed for 23 sets of medals in age group I (17 years old and under) and age group II (18 years old and over) including: 16 sets of medals for individual combat for men and women; 6 sets of medals for individual standard and creative forms for men and women; 1 set of medals for team combat.

The tournament is part of the series of events of the 17th Khmer Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival in 2025, celebrating the Ok Om Bok festival of the Khmer people. "The tournament is an opportunity for athletes to compete, learn, exchange, maintain and develop the Taekwondo movement in the province, contributing to serving the cultural and spiritual life of the people", Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Nguyen Ba shared.
With careful preparation, the athletes competed with determination, bringing dramatic competitions right from the qualifying round. As a martial arts enthusiast, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Tu, a resident of Go Quao commune, brought his 10-year-old son to the Commune Culture, Sports and Broadcasting Center to watch the matches. Mr. Tu said: "It's been a long time since I had the opportunity to watch a provincial martial arts tournament. At the tournament, many children were young but had very good competition techniques. I plan to let my children learn Taekwondo to improve their health." Mr. Truong Tan Hung - Director of Long Phu Ward General Service Center said: "Although it is quite far from Long Phu to Go Quao, the unit has prepared well in terms of personnel as well as travel and accommodation conditions to participate in the tournament."

Possessing a balanced force and good technical expertise, Long Phu ward unit excellently won first place overall, with 7 gold medals, 3 silver medals, 13 bronze medals. The host unit Go Quao ranked second overall, with 5 gold medals, 10 silver medals, 4 bronze medals. Giong Rieng commune unit ranked third overall, with 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 7 bronze medals.
Delighted to win the gold medal in the 68kg weight category of age group I, athlete Pham Van Ly from Long Phu ward shared: “I am very happy to win the gold medal, contributing to the overall best performance of the unit. I thank the coach for his dedicated teaching and creating conditions for me to participate in the tournament”. Meanwhile, Thi Hong Quy - the gold medal winner in the female individual standard form category of age group I confided: “I feel a bit regretful that the Go Quao commune unit only achieved second place overall when having the most athletes competing in the final round of the tournament. However, we tried our best, the second place overall achievement is also the success of the whole team because we competed with quality athletes from other units. We will try to compete better in the upcoming tournaments”.
Head coach of Taekwondo Department of An Giang Province Nguyen Bich Thuy assessed that this year's tournament was quite successful in both professional quality and organization. In particular, the level of athletes competing was of high professional quality, demonstrating the interest and investment in developing this martial art of the localities. In addition, the host unit Go Quao carefully prepared the competition venue and logistics, ensuring security and order throughout the tournament. The coaching board of the Taekwondo Department of the province discovered and selected excellent athletes for training in order to build a high-achieving force with depth and good professional quality to participate in regional and national competitions.
