Over the years, the program “Warm Clothes to School” has become a bridge between kind-hearted people and poor children in remote, isolated and extremely disadvantaged areas. There, winter comes with frost, and children go to school in thin clothes. The warm clothes sent to the children not only dispel the cold but also bring the warmth of human love, giving them more motivation to go to school, nurturing their dreams of studying and their aspirations to excel.
“When we see children wearing new warm coats, smiling brightly, happily walking on the street, that is the inspiration for us to further expand this humanitarian program. We aim to give away 1 million warm coats in the next 10 years. We hope that the Golden Ball is not only a light on the field, but also a fire to warm up difficult lands. The players who win the Golden Ball of the year will be invited to be ambassadors to accompany the donation and campaign trips. We will adjust the Gala script so that the launching part can move the public and we look forward to receiving the support of the players,” said journalist Nguyen Khac Van, Acting Editor-in-Chief of SGGP Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vietnam Golden Ball Award, at the press conference on the morning of November 6.
SGGP newspaper has decided to include the "Warm Clothes to School" campaign in the gala awarding ceremony of the Vietnam Golden Ball 2025 at the end of December in Ho Chi Minh City. The players who win the award categories will be invited to be ambassadors of the program, joining in spreading warmth to poor students. From next season, the next winners will continue the role of ambassadors, maintaining the charitable mission through each season.
When “Warm Clothes for School” was introduced at the press conference announcing the Vietnam Golden Ball Award 2025, the program touched the hearts of journalists and reporters. Colleague Huynh Sang confided that the Golden Ball is not only a symbol of glory on the football field but also a source of humanistic meanings. “The attention of fans and community connection are necessary, especially when the Golden Ball Award is combined with charity activities. If possible, SGGP Newspaper should elevate the community program, not only in remote areas but also in Ho Chi Minh City. And the criteria of social contribution should be made a mandatory condition for award-winning players, to spread the image and humanistic values of the title,” journalist Huynh Sang suggested.
Like journalist Huynh Sang, the guests believe that the “heroes of the field” will be ready to go to faraway lands, bringing with them love and social responsibility. And that is the most beautiful image of Vietnamese players: both virtuous and talented.
