L'Equipe reported that Ousmane Dembele has asked PSG to review his contract by increasing his salary to match his current position and contribution to the club.
The 28-year-old striker has far surpassed runner-up Lamine Yamal to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or race, thanks to his outstanding contributions to PSG 's spectacular treble - Ligue 1, French Cup and Champions League.

In this explosive campaign, Dembele scored 35 goals and 16 assists for PSG in all competitions, was the best player of the 2024/25 Champions League,...
For that reason, Dembele believes he deserves a higher salary than the one he is receiving at Parc des Princes – 18 million euros/year before tax, even though this number is the highest in the team.
There is information that Dembele's contract with PSG in 2023, which expires in the summer of 2028, includes a salary increase if he wins the Golden Ball. The Paris team denies this, but according to L'Equipe, there is indeed such an agreement between the two sides.
Therefore, recently Dembele's side is said to have contacted PSG to ask the club to carry out the deal.
PSG is open to negotiations but remains financially cautious because they want to maintain a balance in salary funds, instead of making exceptions like they did with Neymar, Messi and especially Mbappe.
Also because of the great favoritism towards Mbappe, who earns 70 million euros/year in Paris, their breakup later took place in a noisy manner and currently has not completely ended the lawsuits about money.
