Minister Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a meeting to review the implementation of digital government of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The conference was attended by leaders of departments, offices, institutes, and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade ; representatives of consulting and contractor enterprises.

At the conference, representatives of the assigned units and contractors reported on the implementation of infrastructure systems related to digital transformation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. At the same time, recommendations were made so that the implementation of digital transformation at the Ministry could take place quickly and on schedule.

Overview of the conference

Accordingly, representatives of three consulting units and contractors including: Military Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ), Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Thien Hoang Technology Group Joint Stock Company reported that they have completed most of the digital transformation items at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Specifically, Viettel has built an electronic information portal, a data center and more than 20 specialized databases, committed to completing before November 15 and proposed to soon issue regulations on operation and data management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. VNPT focuses on completing administrative procedures according to the architecture of the information system for handling administrative procedures at the ministerial level, deployed in 26 provinces and committed to shortening the progress, while supporting in connection and data management. Thien Hoang said that it has basically completed the specialized databases and the Command and Operation Center, will complete integration and operation in October-November, ready to coordinate in issuing regulations on data exploitation.

Based on the report and opinions at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien gave instructions on solutions to accelerate digital transformation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the coming time.

Specifically, the Minister requested units to quickly complete comments and consult with the Ministry's leaders and the Party Committee's Standing Committee to promptly issue the Data Development Strategy and master plan for the data center infrastructure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on November 5, 2025.

Regarding the Regulations on data operation and management, Viettel is requested to study the issued regulations to advise the Ministry to complete and issue them before November 7.

For new platforms being deployed, the Minister requested units under the Ministry to proactively review, give comments, and coordinate with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to promptly complete documents and procedures, and put them into official use before November 7, 2025.

Minister Nguyen Hong Dien also requested contractors to promptly complete the settlement procedures for the ongoing bid packages; continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to complete the foundational parts as required by the units under the Ministry. During the implementation process, it is necessary to ensure both general and specific requirements, ensuring connectivity between the Ministry and the Government, and between localities and the Ministry.

For consulting units, project management, independent testing consultants, it is necessary to arrange resources in terms of both human resources and finance to basically complete the digital transformation task in November 2025. Localities need to continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to complete according to regulations.
