Accordingly, after storm No. 13, many locals and tourists discovered an ancient ship floating in the Tan Thanh sea area (Hoi An Tay ward, Da Nang city). Large waves washed away the sand layer, exposing the ship's hull right on the beach, attracting locals and tourists.
As soon as discovered, the authorities cordoned off the area, put up warning signs and warned people not to approach, in order to protect the current status of underwater heritage.
At the same time, staff at the Hoi An World Cultural Heritage Conservation Center also measured and recorded the preliminary dimensions of the ship and will report in detail after working with the authorities.

Previously, the ship was discovered in December 2023 inside the area of the emergency anti-erosion embankment project on Cua Dai beach. After carbon isotope samples were taken to verify its "origin", the ship was buried again by the waves.
Through initial surveys, it was found that the artifacts suspected to be ancient ships discovered in the above-mentioned area include many dark brown wooden bars protruding from the sea surface from 10-30cm, arranged in the shape of a boat with a pointed end, measuring about 3m wide and about 15m long. However, to accurately determine the type and age of the artifacts, it is necessary to base on the results of archaeological excavations.
