
The event, chaired by the city's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, took place from December 26 to 28 in the An Hoi Sculpture Garden area, the old town (Hoi An ward) and Hoi An Dong and Hoi An Tay wards.
The opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m. on December 26 at the An Hoi Sculpture Garden stage, with highlights including traditional Japanese drum performances and art programs by famous Vietnamese and Japanese singers and art troupes.
On December 27 and 28, people and tourists can enjoy the performance of "Traditional Japanese palanquin procession", watch the Sakai calligraphy and tea ceremony demonstration at Cam Pho communal house; and participate in the cosplay contest dressing up as famous Japanese comic and cartoon characters on the afternoon of December 28.
Notably, at 5:00 p.m. on December 26 and 27, the Organizing Committee will recreate the "Procession of Princess Ngoc Hoa and Merchant Araki Sotaro" - a symbol of Vietnamese - Japanese cultural exchange, using a model of the Goryeo Ship in the old quarter and the Chua Cau arc to serve the people and tourists.
During the 3 consecutive days of the event, there were also many cultural exchange activities, traditional art performances between Vietnam and Japan; street art exchange programs; interactive activities such as origami folding, wearing Yukata, visiting the "Hizen Ceramics - Storytelling Patterns" theme...
In addition, there are regular activities such as: Hoi An - Japan cultural exchange photo exhibition, Vietnam - Japan bonsai exhibition, food booth, tourism promotion, introduction of OCOP products and traditional crafts.
