From around 5pm, heavy rain fell over a wide area, especially in the city centre. Traffic became chaotic as people rushed to find their way home in the rain, many roads were slippery, and vehicles moved slowly.

Huynh Thuy Linh, a student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City, said that after school it was raining heavily, so she chose to take the bus instead of riding her motorbike due to safety concerns. Dang Vinh Kham, a shipper in Cho Quan Ward, said that because of the danger of slippery roads, many shippers had to stop to take shelter from the rain to ensure safety and accept the delay in delivery.

Previously, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a warning on November 8 that Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region would have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, with scattered showers in the afternoon and evening, and heavy rain in some places.
Frequent heavy rains in recent times have added to the pressure on traffic in Ho Chi Minh City. People are advised to bring raincoats, leave early and limit speed to ensure safety.
