A "death hole" appeared on Highway 743A

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Dong Hiep Ward (HCMC) said that by the afternoon of November 8, relevant units were urgently repairing the "death hole" on DT743A road.

Previously, a "death hole" more than 2m deep appeared on DT743A road through Tan Dong Hiep ward.

The mouth of the sinkhole is about 1 meter long and more than 2 meters deep, the asphalt layer has fallen into the hole. Next to the sinkhole is a drainage pipe. The sinkhole appeared right in front of a traffic light, causing difficulties for many vehicles passing through the area.

The road surface in the area where the “death hole” appeared has just been repaired and paved. Residents and authorities have placed tree branches and warning signs in front of the “death hole”.

According to the Chairman of Tan Dong Hiep Ward People's Committee, the initial cause of the "death hole" was determined to be that this road section was previously dug up by the construction unit to install a drainage culvert. In recent days, due to heavy rain, the ground subsided, causing the incident.
