Provincial Party Secretary inspects two key projects.

On the afternoon of June 3rd, Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, inspected the progress of the Ca Mau General Hospital project with a capacity of 1,200 beds and the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade project.

• The topping-out ceremony for the 1,200-bed Ca Mau General Hospital has been held.

Under no circumstances should the 1,200-bed hospital project be allowed to continue to be delayed.

Accompanying the inspection team for the 1,200-bed Ca Mau General Hospital project were comrades: Lu Quang Ngoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Nguyen Minh Luan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Mr. Duong Chi Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Project Management Board, reported on the progress of the 1,200-bed Ca Mau General Hospital project.

Reporting at the inspection, Mr. Duong Chi Trung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Construction Project Management Board, stated that all 12 bidding packages of the project are currently being implemented simultaneously. Of these, bidding package No. 8 (land leveling, gates, and fences) has been completed and accepted; most of the remaining packages are behind schedule. The total disbursed value of the project to date has reached over 936 billion VND (total investment exceeding 3,301 billion VND).

The main reasons for the delay are the province's lack of local sand and stone resources , and occasional disruptions to supplies from outside the province. In addition, some contractors have not been proactive in mobilizing manpower and have not adhered closely to their committed timelines.

The Provincial Construction Project Management Board is focusing its resources and holding weekly meetings at the construction site to resolve difficulties. They are also requiring contractors to work overtime and extra shifts to ensure the completion of the 9th floor before June 30th.

A representative from Corporation 319 (the construction unit) added that the weather conditions also caused difficulties during construction and led to a localized shortage of manpower in some specialized areas. The unit committed to mobilizing additional resources and organizing continuous construction to compensate for the delay.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai (second from the left) emphasized: "Absolutely no further delays in the project's progress will be allowed for any reason whatsoever."

Reiterating that this is an urgent project with significant social importance, receiving special attention from the Central Government and eagerly awaited by the people, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai emphasized: “The project's progress cannot be delayed any further for any reason. The investor, contractor, and construction units must clearly understand their responsibilities, seriously fulfill their commitments, and at all costs ensure the project is completed on time and inaugurated by the end of 2026.”

The Provincial Party Secretary requested that the investor, on behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, take more decisive action. For bidding packages facing prolonged obstacles, they must report immediately so that the provincial leadership can consider solutions to resolve them promptly.

Specifically for Corporation 319, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that the unit would demonstrate the resilience of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," strive to implement solutions to compensate for the delayed work volume, and absolutely not allow it to affect the overall objectives of the project.

Following the directives of the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi requested that all units must have the best solutions and the highest level of determination. For medical equipment supply contracts, implementation must be synchronized.

Determined to overcome material supply difficulties for the Ca Mau Airport project.

Following a site inspection of the 1,200-bed Ca Mau General Hospital project, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi visited the construction site of the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade project.

A representative from the Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) stated that the unit is actively addressing difficulties in the supply of sand and stone materials; and at the same time, urging contractors to focus equipment and personnel to accelerate the project's progress.

The Ca Mau Airport upgrade and expansion project has a total investment of VND 2,399 billion. Currently, two main packages have commenced construction: Package No. 12, which involves the construction and supply and installation of equipment for the runway, taxiway, aircraft parking area, and auxiliary facilities; and Package No. 20, which involves the construction and supply and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal and auxiliary facilities.

To date, package 12 has achieved approximately 43.4% of the contract value in terms of construction volume; package 20 has achieved approximately 36.4% in terms of construction value. Calibration flights are expected to begin on September 13th, and the aircraft is scheduled to be put into operation in October 2026.

During the inspection, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai stated that the province had proactively sent official letters requesting neighboring localities to prioritize providing sand and stone for the project.

Affirming that the expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport is a strategic project that will create momentum to boost the province's economy to achieve double-digit growth , the Provincial Party Secretary requested the investor and construction units to race against time and closely monitor each progress milestone to ensure the project is put into operation on schedule.

Furthermore, Comrade Nguyen Ho Hai expressed his hope that after the airport becomes operational, Vietnam Airlines Corporation will prioritize recruiting and training local personnel, thereby linking the interests of Ca Mau people with the sustainable development of the aviation industry.
