According to the authorities, storm No. 13 is moving rapidly inland, potentially directly affecting Gia Lai province with complex developments. To proactively respond, more than 4,300 officers and soldiers from units of the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5, along with nearly 300 vehicles and armored vehicles, have been mobilized, ready to move in case of any situation.

The units maintained 100% of their personnel on duty, regularly stayed close to the area, coordinated with the authorities to mobilize and evacuate 36,806 households with more than 126,000 people in areas at risk of landslides and deep flooding to safe places. At sea, the border guards called on 5,197 ships with 36,379 fishermen to take shelter; at the same time, guided 575 ships/4,025 fishermen still operating at sea to move out of the danger zone.
Currently, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command has established 3 temporary command posts and 5 mobile teams, ready to participate in search and rescue in all directions; at the same time, ensuring adequate logistics, technical work, food reserves and provisions to serve 7 days for the response force and overcome the consequences of the storm.

Gia Lai province is expected to evacuate 100,000 households with nearly 400,000 people in vulnerable areas before 7 p.m. on November 5. During the evacuation process during the storm, the province will allocate the budget to support 50,000 VND/person/day.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that through on-site inspection of some key areas in the East, people have proactively implemented prevention measures and agreed to relocate.
Currently, the province is focusing on evacuating people in three vulnerable areas: coastal, flooded and landslide areas. For flooded areas, the locality has calculated historical flood peaks to proactively plan evacuations.
For dams in the area, the province is directing relevant forces to discharge floodwaters according to procedures to welcome new floods. The Provincial People's Committee directed the Provincial Military Command to mobilize forces and vehicles to key points; arrange bulldozers and excavators at key traffic routes to prevent landslides and separation.
“The province has identified prevention as the main priority, focusing on the task of responding to storm No. 13. However, due to the strong storm, the province has requested Military Region 5 to increase its forces and means to ensure the response is highly effective,” Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized.
At the conference, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai requested units to strictly grasp the dispatches of the Government , the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5; maintain tight information systems and on-duty regimes at all levels; closely monitor storm developments, effectively implement the "4 on-site" motto, closely coordinate with functional forces, and be ready to promptly handle all situations when the storm makes landfall.


Ready to fight 24/7 in storms
On the afternoon of November 5, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan issued an urgent dispatch requesting comrades in charge of the Forward Command Center and local working groups to be on duty 24/7 at assigned locations to proactively respond to storm No. 13.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee emphasized that local disaster response forces must urgently inspect and urge storm and flood prevention work according to the "4 on-site" motto, in order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
From November 5, 2025, the working groups must absolutely not leave their positions or return home during storms and floods to ensure timely command and handling of arising situations. All developments must be fully reported to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Civil Defense Command for timely direction.
