As one of the policy households with meritorious services to the revolution, Mrs. Nong Thi Quy's family in Loong Tra village has economic difficulties. For many years, they have lived in a seriously degraded and dilapidated stilt house.
Before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, the Luc Yen commune government surveyed, grasped the actual situation and wishes of the family and promptly supported 30 million VND to help repair the stilt house and stabilize life.

Mrs. Quy emotionally shared: "I am very happy because the house has been repaired solidly, firmly, and is no longer afraid of rain and leaks. I am very grateful to the government and the community for their care and support so that my family can have a safe house to live in."
Not far from Mrs. Quy's house, Mr. Hoang Van Linh's family in Keo Qoang village also received support under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in the area.
In early 2025, his family's dream of a new house to replace the temporary house made of bamboo and plywood has come true. With support of 60 million VND from the local movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, along with the family's savings and the help of working days from relatives and villagers, Linh's family is in the process of building a new, solid house.

When the new house is completed, Mr. Linh's family will no longer have to worry about heavy rain or strong winds, and can rest assured to develop the economy to escape poverty.
Mr. Hoang Van Linh said: “The old house is made of bamboo and plywood. Every time there is heavy rain or strong wind, the whole family has to stay up all night because they are worried that the house will collapse. We also want to build a new house, but our economy is too difficult. When the commune announced that we would receive 60 million VND in support to build a house, I was very happy because my family will have more money to build a new, more spacious house."
The case of Mr. Nguyen Quang Vot, Keo Qoang village is a touching story about the community's solidarity. Mr. Vot himself had an accident and could not walk, his family is among the poor households in the commune. Thanks to the 60 million VND support from the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, along with the mobilization of over 60 million VND from readers of Dan Tri newspaper and the help of working days from the villagers, his family is about to have a new, spacious house.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Vot confided: “I had an accident, could no longer walk, and my financial situation was very difficult, so building a solid house was too far away. I was very touched to receive the attention of the Party and the State, and the help of the people to build a house. Without the help of agencies, organizations and the community, I don’t know when my family would be able to build a solid house."
The movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Luc Yen commune has achieved remarkable results. As of September 30, 2025, 60/60 households in the commune have completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses; of which, 32/32 households have built new houses and 28/28 households have repaired them.
The newly completed houses not only provide a material shelter, but also create great spiritual and social effects, helping people have a safe place to live, contributing to improving the quality of life, thereby ensuring peace of mind to develop the family economy. This is also a symbol of humanity, sharing and hope, contributing to building a united, prosperous and happy community where no one is left behind.
