Regarding pangasius, by the end of July 2025, Vietnam's pangasius exports to the EU reached 104 million USD, up 5% over the same period in 2024. “To boost agricultural exports to the EU, it is necessary to strengthen the building of national brands and product labels, and increase the recognition of Vietnamese agricultural and food products in the EU market through deeper penetration and more diversified product types into channels and distribution chains in the EU,” Mr. Cong emphasized.
Meanwhile, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), each year the EU issues about 180 new regulations or adjustments related to agricultural products, food and seafood. Ms. Phung Thi Kim Thu, shrimp market expert (VASEP) informed that to access the dense and constantly changing legal system of the EU, businesses can follow the AGRINFO information system - an EU-funded initiative - to introduce notable policy changes from the European side.
