This is an important political and social event, marking the 80-year journey of construction, growth and dedication of the agriculture and environment sector - an important pillar in the country's sustainable development.

The 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment Sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, scheduled to be held on the morning of November 12, 2025 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), will be attended by more than 1,200 delegates, including leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly, advanced models, and international representatives. In addition, the 80th Anniversary of the Agriculture and Environment Sector Exhibition will introduce outstanding milestones through the ages, scientific and technological achievements, typical production models and green and sustainable development initiatives.

At the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress, the Agriculture and Environment sector was honored to receive the First Class Labor Medal. On this occasion, the Ministry also commended 57 collectives, 151 typical advanced individuals, along with 30 cooperatives, 24 typical farmers and farm owners in the period 2020 - 2025.

Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien informed: "In the first 10 months of the year, the whole sector achieved positive results despite facing many challenges." Institutional building work has been promoted, legal documents on decentralization and delegation of power have been submitted and fully approved. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is finalizing a law to amend 15 laws, removing "bottlenecks of bottlenecks", while drastically cutting down administrative procedures, creating convenience for businesses and people.

Regarding production, growth in September reached 3.33%, and in October and the 10-month period all showed positive changes. Livestock production was affected by African swine fever but still increased by 5.1%; aquaculture increased by 3.1% with an output of 9.7 - 9.8 million tons; forestry is estimated to reach 31 million m³ of wood. Total export turnover reached 58.13 billion USD, up 19.2%, with a trade surplus of 17.59 billion USD; the whole year is expected to reach around 79 billion USD.

Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized that the above results are a great effort in the context of high input material prices and fluctuating consumer markets. The work of combating IUU fishing is still a task that must be done "every day, every hour", requiring units to resolutely and persistently implement the Government 's direction to soon remove the EC's "yellow card".

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is implementing Resolution 57 on science, technology and innovation, considering it a strategic breakthrough for green growth, improving productivity and added value of agricultural products. Along with that, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is also proactively directing the work of natural disaster prevention and control, responding to storm No. 13, which is forecast to be strong, promoting experience from natural disasters in 2020 - 2021 to minimize damage, ensuring growth of the whole industry...

Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Tran Gia Long, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Finance (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), in October 2025, agricultural, forestry and fishery production was affected by storms and heavy rains in many localities in the North and Central regions, causing damage to crops, livestock and aquaculture. However, the whole sector still maintained a stable growth rate, creating a positive foundation for the comprehensive completion of the 2025 goals.

By the end of October, the country had planted 7.1 million hectares of rice, harvested 6.32 million hectares, with an estimated output of 39 million tons, a slight decrease over the same period. Forestry remained stable with 236,600 hectares of newly planted forests (up 12.2%), and timber output reached nearly 20.5 million m³ (up 7.8%). Aquaculture reached 8.16 million tons, up 3.1%, of which shrimp increased by 5.7%.

The export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in October is estimated at 5.96 billion USD, bringing the total value in 10 months to 58.13 billion USD, up 12.9% over the same period. The average export price of many key products continues to maintain a positive growth momentum. Coffee, pepper and cashew nuts all grew thanks to stable demand and guaranteed domestic supply. In particular, the fruit and vegetable group had a strong breakthrough in September and October after removing obstacles in durian exports, expanding markets and increasing export output.

Mr. Long informed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is promoting solutions to promote logistics and supply chains, taking advantage of opportunities to accelerate the completion of the agricultural, forestry and fishery export target in 2025. The industry is expected to achieve and exceed 9 key targets, including GDP growth, export turnover, forest coverage rate, clean water in rural areas and new rural construction. This is the basis for the industry to comprehensively complete the 2025 plan, contributing to economic stability and improving people's lives.
