De Heus Aquaculture Feed Meets ASC International Standards: A Big Step on the Journey to Sustainable Development

(Chinhphu.vn) - De Heus Vinh Long 4 Aquaculture Feed Factory was officially awarded international standard certification by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) on October 23, 2025. This is an important milestone in the development journey of De Heus' aquaculture industry in Vietnam, and at the same time affirms the company's strong commitment to building a green, clean and sustainable seafood value chain.

ASC certification is one of the world's leading prestigious standards, recognizing responsible aquaculture and production units that strictly meet criteria on traceability of raw materials, environmental protection, social responsibility and transparent supply chain management.

De Heus' core strengths

Since 2011, De Heus has started its aquaculture journey in Vietnam with its first factory in Vinh Long. Over the past decade, the company has invested extensively in production, research and technical support systems. Currently, De Heus owns 6 aquaculture feed factories and a global aquaculture R&D Center in Vinh Long.

De Heus' core strength lies in its aquatic feed products, which are researched and developed based on a long-standing animal nutrition foundation from Europe and practical experience in Vietnam with specialized formulas, strictly controlled raw material quality and modern production technology.

De Heus's line of aquaculture feed products is specially designed for: shrimp, pangasius, tilapia, coldwater fish, and inland fish at each stage of development, helping to optimize growth rate, improve intestinal health, and strengthen the immune system of livestock.

De Heus's quality foundation is built on a strict raw material control system. Raw materials must meet high safety standards and not contain banned substances as prescribed. This ensures that the feed provides all the necessary nutrients without leaving any residue in the product.

Along with that, De Heus factory applies modern production lines, managed according to international standards (such as BAP, ISO22000) to ensure consistent quality of feed pellets, good durability, low loss during use, helping farmers optimize costs and improve aquaculture efficiency.

To date, De Heus has developed 19 shrimp feed product lines such as START-TOM, POST-TOM, HI-TOM, GREEN TOM... according to the ASC Feed certification model. These products ensure optimal nutrition, do not contain banned substances and strictly comply with international standards on biosafety and traceability, while meeting export requirements to demanding markets such as the US, EU, Japan...

Going beyond products, De Heus also offers comprehensive solutions such as direct on-farm technical support, aquaculture health monitoring, development of on-farm emission measurement tools and mobile laboratory services for rapid and accurate diagnosis of disease problems.

Strategic steps towards sustainable development

Achieving ASC certification is a strategic step in De Heus' long-term development goal – affirming its commitment to nurturing future generations through sustainable values ​​and responsibility towards the environment, community and the seafood industry.

De Heus accompanies farmers in building sustainable aquaculture models, contributing to environmental protection, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing product value. This activity not only helps farmers optimize production efficiency but also helps consumers have a safe food source, traceable origin and meeting export standards.

Currently, De Heus is collaborating with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau, SAEN Company and partners to implement a large-scale recirculating shrimp farming project in Ca Mau province, applying RAS-IMTA technology. This project not only helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and discharge less waste into the environment, but also aims to build a raw material area that meets ASC and BAP standards for export.

With an expansion scale of up to 1,000 hectares in the period 2025-2030, De Heus takes on a comprehensive role from providing high-quality shrimp feed, direct technical support at the farm, to consulting and supporting farmers in integrating and converting to a recirculating water treatment model. The goal is to optimize production efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
