Heavy rain continues from the Central region to the Central Highlands

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from November 6-7, the area from Da Nang to Dak Lak will have very heavy rain with total rainfall ranging from 200-400mm, with some places over 600mm.

The provinces of Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong have heavy to very heavy rain, with common rainfall of 150-300mm, locally over 450mm.

Particularly from Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri , from the day and night of November 7, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain with rainfall of 50-100mm, locally over 150mm.

In the South, in the evening and night of November 6, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with average rainfall of 10-30mm, and heavy rain over 70mm in some places.

High risk of flash floods and landslides

The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Prolonged heavy rains may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.

The risk level of natural disasters caused by heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is assessed at level 1, with the area from Da Nang to Dak Lak reaching level 2.

Rain gradually decreased from November 8

From November 8, heavy rain in the area from South Quang Tri to Lam Dong tends to decrease gradually. The area from Thanh Hoa to North Quang Tri still has moderate to heavy rain (20-50mm), in some places very heavy rain over 80mm, then decrease from the night of the same day.

Faced with the complicated developments of prolonged heavy rain, people need to closely monitor forecasts and warnings from meteorological agencies; at the same time, proactively prepare plans to prevent, evacuate and protect property, ensuring safety of life in all situations.
