Flood control operation at Song Cai reservoir with flow rate of 77m3/s

According to information from Ninh Thuan Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. - the unit managing and operating Song Cai Lake (belonging to Tan My Irrigation System), in response to heavy rains caused by storm No. 13, limiting flooding in the downstream, the company has developed an operational plan to proactively lower the water level of large reservoirs to be ready to welcome floods, including Song Cai Lake - the largest irrigation lake in the province with a capacity of 219.8 million m3.

Song Cai Lake is operating, regulating floods at a flow rate of 77m ³ /s.

Specifically, by the morning of November 6, the unit had operated Song Cai reservoir with the maximum flow rate of about 142.23m3/s; reaching about 3.26% of the designed discharge flow rate; the total discharge flow rate was about 55.42 million m3; the water level of the reservoir had been lowered to 190.72m3, equivalent to a capacity of 200.74 million m3, equivalent to 91.3% of the designed capacity to ensure flood reception. The unit is closely monitoring the water flow to the reservoir to adjust the regulation plan to ensure the safety of the reservoir and the safety of the downstream area. By 3:00 p.m. on November 6, Song Cai reservoir was operating at a flow rate of 77m3/s.

To ensure safety in the downstream area, the company has announced the operation and regulation of Song Cai reservoir to the downstream localities to promptly notify people to proactively respond, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
