Khanh Hoa Electricity Company proactively responds to storm No. 13 (KALMAEGI) and floods

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (international name: Kalmaegi) that is likely to directly affect the Central region, including Khanh Hoa province, Khanh Hoa Power Company has urgently deployed many proactive, synchronous and timely solutions to ensure absolute safety for people and equipment, and stable operation of the power grid in all situations.

Immediately after receiving instructions from the General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) at the online meeting on November 5, 2025, the Director of Khanh Hoa Power Company issued an urgent directive, requesting all affiliated units to seriously deploy the work of preventing, combating and responding to storm No. 13 according to the "four on-site" motto: on-site command, on-site forces, on-site means and materials and on-site logistics.

Power grid management units are required to temporarily suspend non-urgent work, focus on clearing the line corridor, inspect and consolidate vulnerable locations, review key transformer stations, especially in mountainous, coastal and low-lying areas with high risk of flooding and landslides. At the same time, mobilize people living near the power grid safety corridor to proactively tie down corrugated iron roofs and billboards, prevent storms from blowing into the lines and causing incidents, ensuring electrical safety in the community.

Khanh Hoa High Voltage Grid Enterprise has increased preparations of sandbags, pumps, and flood prevention materials at 110kV stations, especially focusing on Thap Cham 110kV substation, ensuring timely response in all situations.

Along with that, the Company's Safety Department regularly updates weather conditions, monitors storm forecasts on official channels to proactively inform, guide and propose appropriate response measures; the Control Department and the Information and Communications Technology Department check the radio system, communication information, transmission network, ensuring smooth 24/24 operation information during storms. The Planning - Materials Department reviews, arranges materials and equipment neatly, prepares adequate means and construction tools, and is ready to mobilize immediately when required.

In fact, the Power Management Teams and Khanh Hoa High Voltage Grid Enterprise have proactively increased nighttime inspections on 110kV lines, using thermal cameras and partial discharge meters to detect abnormalities early, while also checking the line corridors, immediately handling risks of falling trees and obstacles violating safety distances, contributing to preventing incidents when storms make landfall.

Along with technical work, the Company also promotes propaganda on electrical safety during the rainy and stormy season, mobilizing all officers and employees to share articles and instructions on safe electricity use on social networks to spread the message of preventing electrical incidents in the community, raising people's awareness in protecting the safety corridor of the power grid.
