Honoring 98 outstanding individuals and groups at the 3rd National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese culture"

On the evening of November 6, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Vietnam Television to organize the 3rd National Press Awards Ceremony "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture". The program was broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television.

The "Vietnamese Inspiration" Award is considered a notable highlight of this year's season. Nhan Dan Newspaper won the Special Prize for the "Vietnamese Inspiration" Award.

Attending the award ceremony were comrade Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister. Also attending were comrades of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Le Quoc Minh, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Do Tien Sy, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam ; Nguyen Thuy Anh, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission.

Attending the ceremony were also alternate members of the Party Central Committee, and representatives of relevant ministries, departments and branches.

Recognizing the enduring contributions of cultural journalists

The National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of groups, individuals, and teams of journalists in the cause of developing culture, information, sports , tourism and family.

This is also an opportunity to recognize the efforts of press and media agencies in turning culture into a source of spiritual energy, spreading to millions of people, joining hands to implement the strategic action statement: "Culture is the foundation - information is the conduit - sports is the strength - tourism is the connecting bridge".

The authors and representatives of the group of authors won the First Prize.

Assessing the professional quality of this season, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the Award's Final Jury, commented: This year, the press award of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been raised to a new level, demonstrated through the scale and quality of the entries.

"With more than 1,000 works sent from central and local press agencies, we consider this to be a very positive response from the press nationwide. That number not only reflects the attraction of the award, but also shows the increasingly deep interest of reporters and editors in the fields of culture, sports and tourism," added comrade Le Quoc Minh.

This year’s entries are diverse in genre and theme. In the final round, many entries demonstrated depth in content, reflecting major industry issues such as cultural policy, legal basis, the role of culture in the digital age, building family culture, etc.

Previously, on July 3, 2025, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Award Organizing Committee Le Hai Binh signed Decision No. 2312/QD-BVHTTDL to change the name of the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" to the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture".

Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: "After two times of organization, this time the award has changed its name to the National Press Award 'For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture'. The new name meets the criteria of being short, concise, impressive but encompassing a multi-sectoral, multi-field Ministry in the new situation".

Implementing the direction of Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, together with Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, Van Hoa Newspaper has drafted the Plan and regulations for the 3rd National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" in the spirit of innovation in the context of the award changing its name with a larger scale and stature.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Vu, Editor-in-Chief of Culture Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Award Organizing Committee shared: "After taking over the function of press management, publishing, and foreign information from the Ministry of Information and Communications (formerly), the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have also changed. Therefore, the scale and stature of the award have also been enhanced, and the name of the award has also been changed to be appropriate."

This year's National Press Award "For the development of Vietnamese culture" has expanded the focus of the entries. In addition to the content revolving around the fields of culture, sports and tourism like previous seasons, in this season, contestants can enter with articles about journalism and publishing.

1,040 entries, 95 individual awards and 3 collective awards were honored

The Organizing Committee received 1,040 press entries from most central and local press agencies. The entries were published and broadcast on various forms: print, electronic, radio, television and press photos from June 16, 2024 to July 31, 2025. After a period of synthesizing, screening, evaluating, discussing and judging the works, the Preliminary Council selected 122 excellent works to present to the Final Council.

The authors and representatives of the group of authors won the Third Prize.

After the preliminary and final rounds, the Organizing Committee decided to award 95 individual prizes, including: 5 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 25 third prizes and 50 consolation prizes.

The 5 first prizes went to the works: "Preserving historical and cultural values ​​when naming after the merger" (printed newspaper, 4-part series, Culture Newspaper); "Living forever the memory of the 70th anniversary of the victory" (electronic newspaper, 5-part series, VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper); "Awakening the heritage" (radio, Voice of Vietnam); Seminar on the theme "The rising generation" (television, News Department, Vietnam Television); "Family traditions preserving 'national color' (press photos, Culture Newspaper).

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 3 collective prizes to press agencies with many quality works: Voice of Vietnam; Bac Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television; Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio and Television.

A notable highlight of this year's season is that for the first time, the Organizing Committee awarded 6 more "Vietnamese Inspiration" Awards. This award aims to honor the persistent efforts of press agencies, media channels and individuals who have contributed to turning culture into a source of spiritual energy spreading to millions of people.

Nhan Dan Newspaper won the Special Prize for "Vietnamese Inspiration", 3 Second Prizes (2 works in the electronic newspaper category and 1 work in the photojournalism category), 1 Third Prize in the print newspaper category and 1 Encouragement Prize in the print newspaper category.

The "Vietnamese Inspiration" award is considered a notable highlight of this year's season.

The "Vietnamese Inspiration" award was given to 6 units: the Special prize went to Nhan Dan Newspaper, the First prize went to Vietnam Television, the Second prize went to the Military Radio and Television Center, the Third prize went to Hanoi Radio and Television, the Social Media Channel award went to Schannel Network and the Individual award went to actor Nguyen Hung (Nguyen Quoc Hung).

The "Vietnamese Inspiration" Award has affirmed the role of press agencies, media channels, and individuals in creating and fostering good values, contributing to the construction of an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity. "Vietnamese Inspiration" is a symbol of the soft power of culture, the power to touch hearts, arouse aspirations, and spread the Vietnamese spirit in the new era.
