Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attends the National Press Awards Ceremony for preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

On the evening of October 30, in Hanoi, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the 5th National Press Awards Ceremony for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity, 2024-2025.

Attending were: Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Party Central Committee's Internal Affairs Commission, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity Phan Dinh Trac; Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien - Head of the Steering Committee of the Award; Party Central Committee member, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

Also attending were: Party Central Committee members; alternate Party Central Committee members; leaders of departments, ministries, branches, Vietnam Fatherland Front and central organizations; leaders of press agencies; authors, representatives of author groups honored to receive the Award.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the award ceremony is an important event, recognizing and honoring outstanding journalistic works in the fight against corruption, waste, and negativity, contributing to building an increasingly clean and strong Party and political system.

The Prime Minister pointed out that during his lifetime, beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, national liberation hero, world cultural celebrity of Vietnam, advised: corruption, waste and bureaucracy are enemies of the people, a kind of internal invader.

Taking to heart his advice, our Party and State have focused on directing the drastic, synchronous and strict implementation of the uncompromising fight against corruption, waste and negativity with the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions" and achieved many very important and comprehensive results, which have been supported by the people and highly appreciated by the international community. In particular, there are positive contributions from the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, press agencies and journalists.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Prime Minister acknowledged, commended and highly appreciated the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Journalists Association and Vietnam Television for successfully organizing this very meaningful press award. At the same time, he congratulated the 44 authors and groups of authors whose excellent works were honored at the Award Ceremony, making an important contribution to the fight against corruption, waste and negativity of the Party, State and our People.

In the new era, the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity continues to be identified by our Party and State as a key task that is both urgent and long-term, and an important premise to promote the rapid and sustainable development of our country.

With the motto of "proactive prevention, early detection from afar, not letting small violations accumulate into big mistakes", this persistent and steadfast struggle requires the participation of the entire political system and the entire population, including the important role of the press, journalists, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations; and the supervision of the People. All violations, crimes of corruption, waste, and negativity, the People all know, we must truly rely on the People so that this arduous struggle can achieve better results.

Emphasizing this, the Prime Minister suggested continuing to strongly promote the key role of the press, building a team of steadfast journalists who do not retreat in the face of difficulties and challenges; are alert in the face of temptations; are steadfast and persistent in political will; are dedicated and sharp in expertise; are humane in their practice and resolute and brave in their struggle; are exemplary pioneers, and fight uncompromisingly against corruption, waste, and negativity with the spirit of "steel in the pen, fire in the heart".

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations continue to perform well the tasks of social supervision and criticism, further promoting the role and strength of the people in detecting and fighting against manifestations and acts of corruption, waste and negativity.

Party committees and authorities at all levels focus on thoroughly and promptly implementing the Party and State's guidelines and policies, strengthening coordination, creating favorable conditions, accompanying and protecting the press, journalists and organizations and individuals who bravely fight against manifestations of corruption, waste and negative behavior.

Promoting the important results achieved through 5 successful seasons, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believes that the National Press Award on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity will continue to innovate, create strong influence, add motivation, inspiration, and create confidence for the team of journalists to freely create, devote their talent, enthusiasm and intelligence to the cause of fighting against corruption, waste and negativity; contribute to building a professional, humane and modern revolutionary press, building a rich, prosperous, civilized and happy country in the new era.

The 5th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negativity, 2024-2025, is held to honor outstanding press works on the topic of anti-corruption, wastefulness, and negativity. To encourage and motivate journalists nationwide, to continue to strongly promote the role of the press in detecting, fighting, and condemning acts of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.

According to the Organizing Committee, after 2 years of implementation, as of July 31, 2025, 1,110 press works were submitted. The Preliminary Council selected 91 outstanding works in 4 categories: print, electronic, television, and radio for the final round.

Through the impartial and objective final judging process, the Organizing Committee unanimously selected 44 best press works to award prizes, including: 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 12 C prizes and 18 Encouragement prizes.
