Hanoi calls on businesses to support the "For the Poor" Fund and social security

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Bui Huyen Mai said that in response to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" for the period 2021-2025 launched by the Prime Minister , in recent years, the "For the Poor" Fund and social security at all levels of the city have always received attention, response, and active participation from Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, unions at all levels, businesses, philanthropists and people of all walks of life in the capital. The mobilized funds have been promptly allocated to support poverty reduction in the city and provinces and cities across the country.

In particular, in 2025, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city supported the construction of 89 Great Solidarity houses for near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in the city.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2025), the city presented gifts to 690 near-poor households and 1,000 families of outstanding officials, members, union members and youths in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of VND 8.45 billion from the "For the Poor" Fund and the city budget.

According to the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, Bui Huyen Mai, after reviewing, there are currently 690 near-poor households in the capital that are in dire need of the cooperation, sharing and help of agencies, organizations, businesses and philanthropists. The program "Joining hands for the poor and social security" and the Action Month "For the poor" in 2025 is an opportunity for each agency, organization, unit, business and people to demonstrate the spirit of "Mutual love and affection", sharing, creating livelihood support to help near-poor households and people in difficult circumstances have the opportunity to change their lives and have a better life.

On this occasion, the People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city calls on agencies, organizations, units, enterprises, and people of all walks of life in the capital to promote the tradition of solidarity, the spirit of "Mutual love and affection", "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country" to participate in supporting the "For the Poor" Fund and social security activities of the city, localities and units.

At the conference, representatives of many organizations and businesses expressed their high agreement with this campaign. Continuing the tradition of many years, in 2025, units continued to respond and support the program, such as: Taseco Group donated 1 billion VND; T&T Group Joint Stock Company donated 1 billion VND; Hanoi Housing Development and Investment Corporation donated 1 billion VND; Him Lam Company donated 1 billion VND; UDIC Urban Infrastructure Development and Investment Corporation donated 400 million VND; Hanel Company donated 200 million VND; Hanoi Tourism Corporation donated 200 million VND; An Khanh New Urban Development Joint Venture Company donated 500 million VND...

Enterprises and organizations affirmed that, in addition to being highly aware of their responsibility to their employees, they always pay attention to promoting their responsibility to the social community and on this occasion will continue to support the city's departments and branches to take care of near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the area.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan affirmed that in recent years, with the joint efforts of the whole city, especially organizations and businesses, Hanoi has organized many activities to care for people and households in difficult circumstances, achieving positive results in social security work. Among them, many Great Solidarity houses have been built and given to households in especially difficult circumstances.

Emphasizing that the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee highly appreciated and commended the sense of responsibility and the proactive and active participation of the capital's business community, with many businesses annually supporting the city's "For the Poor" Fund, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that at this conference, the "For the Poor" Fund and social security of Hanoi city received registrations to support a total amount of 10 billion VND from organizations and businesses in the area.

“The city leaders and the Organizing Committee of the Program “Joining hands for the poor and social security” of Hanoi city in 2025 hope that from now until the program takes place (expected on November 3, 2025), the number of donations to the city's “For the poor” Fund from organizations and businesses will continue to increase, so that the results achieved will be higher than in 2024”, comrade Duong Duc Tuan expressed.
