
IIG Vietnam Education Organization - the official representative of the Educational Testing Service of the United States in Vietnam has launched the TOEFL Challenge English competition for the 2025-2026 school year for students nationwide. The competition includes TOEFL Primary Challenge for elementary school students (from grade 2 to grade 5) and TOEFL Junior Challenge for middle school students.
This year’s competition has many innovations to bring more exciting experiences to students. Specifically, the online experience round is designed according to the “experience arena” model with three open competition stages within 1.5 months, helping students practice regularly with exam questions at the stages that are upgraded according to increasing levels.
The organizing committee has optimized the international test system in each round, not only focusing on academic English skills but also on communication skills in an international environment through the application of the international standardized test system TOEFL and TOEIC. These changes ensure a multi-dimensional and comprehensive assessment of all four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing of students.
Opportunity for students to practice skills, conquer attractive prizes with total prize value up to 700 million VND, the highest prize worth up to 20 million VND.

Entering its 14th year of nationwide implementation, the contest uses the prestigious international TOEFL and TOEIC test systems developed by the Educational Testing Service of the United States. Over the years, the contest has always received the attention of many parents and students because of the practical values that the contest brings to each contestant.
Each student taking the TOEFL Challenge will receive a TOEFL Primary and TOEFL Junior scorecard issued by ETS, which is a globally valid tool for assessing English output standards at primary and secondary levels, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training . Notably, the Lexile score - a unique tool on the TOEFL scorecard system - helps evaluate and guide the selection of English books appropriate to the student's level.
In Hanoi , the TOEFL Challenge English competition for the 2025-2026 school year is organized into rounds: Online experience round (free), city-level selection round (round 1), city-level ranking round (round 2) and national final round (round 3).
The Organizing Committee will launch an online and completely free trial round, open continuously from November 1, 2025 to December 15, 2025, to help candidates test their skills with the international standard TOEFL trial test.
In the city-level selection round (round 1), students will conquer the TOEFL Primary test (for primary school candidates), TOEFL Junior test (for secondary school candidates) on a voluntary basis and with an exam fee. The best candidates have the opportunity to enter the city-level ranking round (round 2) to try their hand at the international TOEFL Junior/TOEIC Listening & Reading test, with the exam fee sponsored by the Organizing Committee.
In the national final round (round 3), students from Hanoi and other provinces/cities compete with the TOEFL Junior Speaking & Writing/TOEIC Speaking & Writing test. The Organizing Committee continues to sponsor all exam fees.

In other provinces and cities, the contest is implemented in the following rounds: Free online experience round (round 1), candidates register and enter the free online experience code on the Organizing Committee's system; Provincial/City/Regional round (round 2), students pay a fee, take the international TOEFL Primary test (for primary school students), TOEFL Junior (for secondary school students) on a voluntary basis and have an exam fee; National final round (round 3) students nationwide compete with the TOEFL Junior Speaking & Writing/TOEIC Speaking & Writing test, the Organizing Committee sponsors all exam fees.
