(CT) - According to the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the total output of aquaculture and exploitation of aquatic products in the first 9 months of 2025 of the whole country reached more than 7.2 million tons, an increase of 3.2% over the same period in 2024, reaching 74% of the yearly plan.

Specifically, aquaculture output reached 4.3 million tons, up 5.1% over the same period, reaching 72% of the yearly plan. Of which, tra fish reached 1.34 million tons, up 4.6% over the same period; brackish water shrimp reached nearly 920,000 tons. Exploitation output in the past 9 months reached 2.98 million tons, up 0.5%, reaching 78% of the yearly plan.

Seafood export turnover in the past 9 months reached over 8.1 billion USD, up 12.3% over the same period, reaching 77.3% of the plan. Of which, tra fish export reached 1.46 billion USD, up 7.8% over the same period. Shrimp export reached 3.36 billion USD, up 19.7% over the same period. Seafood export turnover for the whole year is forecast to reach 10-10.5 billion USD.
