On October 31, 2025, the domestic and international pepper markets maintained a stable state. After a period of slight fluctuations, pepper prices entered a “resting” cycle, reflecting the waiting mentality of both producers and traders for new supply and demand signals.

Pepper prices are stable in the domestic market today.
As of the morning of October 31, domestic pepper prices fluctuated from 145,000 - 148,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous session.
Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai recorded the lowest level nationwide at 145,000 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Gia Lai traded around 146,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong continues to lead with 148,000 VND/kg.
The sideways market movement indicates a period of price consolidation after short-term fluctuations. Domestic supply remains stable, while export demand has not yet seen large orders that could cause price spikes.
World pepper prices "froze" for the third consecutive session
In the international market, pepper prices remain stable in most key production areas.
Indonesia: Lampung black pepper remained at USD 7,211/ton, Muntok white pepper at USD 10,061/ton.
Malaysia: ASTA black pepper 9,375 USD/ton, ASTA white pepper 12,400 USD/ton, unchanged.
Brazil: Black pepper ASTA 570 stable at USD 6,100/ton.
Vietnam: Black pepper 500 g/l reached 6,400 USD/ton, 550 g/l 6,600 USD/ton, ASTA white pepper 9,050 USD/ton.
This is the third consecutive sideways session of the global pepper market, reflecting a cautious trend in the context of no strong change in import demand.
Indonesia increases exports, hopes for recovery by year-end
According to the International Trade Center (ITC), Indonesia exported 2,264 tons of pepper in August 2025, up 17.3% compared to July. This is considered a positive signal after a period of stagnation in the industry.
However, in the first 8 months of 2025, Indonesia's total export volume reached 24,722 tons, down 8.7% compared to the same period in 2024. Vietnam continues to be the largest import partner, accounting for 21.9% of total exports, while France emerged with a growth rate of 44.4% over the same period.
Experts say the recovery in demand in Europe and stable purchasing power from traditional markets could create a foundation for growth in Indonesian pepper in the final months of the year, thereby contributing to a positive impact on global price trends.
Short-term outlook
With the situation stable both domestically and internationally, the pepper market is in a wait-and-see mode. Traders expect new signals on year-end import demand from the US and Europe to play a decisive role in price trends in the coming time.
