Fishing boat with registration number BTh 80776 belongs to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc De (residing in Quarter 2, Phu Thuy Ward).

According to Mr. De, this morning he went down to check the ship as usual, everything was normal. However, at about 8 o'clock, due to the influence of strong currents on the Cai River, the ship suddenly sank.

The fishing boat was invested by Mr. De and his wife about 2 years ago, with a total value of about 600 million VND.

Immediately after receiving the news, Thanh Hai Border Guard Station coordinated with local forces to urgently deploy rescue operations, mobilizing more large ships to support and prevent the ship from being swept away.

For now, the force can only fix the ship's position and wait for the weather to stabilize before proceeding with the salvage.

Lieutenant Colonel Vo Duy Thanh, Chief of Thanh Hai Border Guard Station, said the unit has stepped up reminders for ship owners in the area to proactively reinforce anchor lines and re-check their vehicles to ensure property safety, especially in the context of the rapid flow of the Cai River.
