The Deputy Prime Minister noted that local authorities must have a firm grasp of the situation of each household, especially the elderly, children, and pregnant women. They must respond promptly and ensure smooth communication in all situations.

Speaking with Thanh Nien reporter , Mr. Nguyen The Anh, Chairman of Vung Ang Ward People's Committee, said that from the afternoon of October 30 until this morning, the ward authorities, with the support of the police and army, had evacuated nearly 500 households with more than 1,500 people in the flooded area to safe shelters.

"Currently, the locality is continuing to mobilize maximum forces and means to soon complete the evacuation of people in low-lying areas," Mr. Anh said.

According to the report of the Ha Tinh Province Civil Defense Command, heavy rains lasting from October 30 to noon today have caused hundreds of households in communes and wards in the southern part of the province to have floodwaters infiltrate their houses, causing flooding of 0.5 - 2 meters. The rains and floods also caused some traffic routes to be deeply flooded, causing landslides on the slopes, causing traffic jams.
